And would it really harm the usability of stealth to limit it to only working while stationary?
The stealth is a compensation for the raketen being the worst AT gun in the game. I'd gladly trade it for a Pak40 when playing OKW. It misses a lot, seems to take a long time to aim, and has a shorter range than most AT guns. I'm pretty sure that most recon skills make it visible but haven't tested all of them. The radio beacons from IR pathfinders or regular pathfinders show them on the mini-map. The only time I've really been annoyed with them was when playing UKF and trying sim-city, and I'll bet that they were a lot more annoyed with sim-city than I was with the raketen.
I could see giving engineers or RE's a little longer detection range if counterplay is really needed. |
That is lmcxt
lmcxt? |
I think that the proper nerf for it would be decreasing the accuracy slightly on the concentration fire ability since the FoW targeting is the whole gimmick of the ability and is what makes it worth 100 muni and an ability slot, as otherwise it's just an expensive version of the infantry thrown coordinated fire.
I did not know you could do that with priests and that's really OP. You could just have one priest crew and rotate it between priests to have all vet3 priests and pretty much constant arty fire in bigger teamgames when you start getting fuel out the ass.
Any ideas for discussion about how to make the valentine worthwhile without maphax? I would vote making it a better anti infantry unit, reducing its cp cost, and/or making the vet ability ignore cool downs and/or include base howitzers in exchange for removing the maphax. Or maybe a recon run ability. All just ideas off the top of my head.
Or maybe just leave it alone. Having most of the abilities be worthless keeps this commander from being part of the meta, and the last thing this game needs is more indirect. |
You can always do family share and VPN crap but it's just a matter of time before relic catches you, just ask paula #MVGame
Um, pretty sure that Paula is still around, unless there is someone else with the name HOI Paula (sp?) who likes to play 1v1's. Got stomped badly by him yesterday. |
In regards to the bolded part, that they don't remove the normal shells. What does that mean? That the air burst shells just get added in on top of the regular old kill-one-pio-model variety? Or what? From my experience playing with them I did appear to see regular 25 pounder shells landing around the target zone. I usually use them in the fog of war with the concentrated fire ability so I didn't really know exactly what they did even though I knew they were pretty good. I do definitely agree that they are the best part of anvil and I know that that's primarily why I go for it. Churchills are just sort of there, icing on the cake, more like gammon bombs or track vehicle in hammer.
The air burst shells hit first, followed by regular arty. If you can time it right, you can really punish someone who blobs and mass retreats. It's also good for taking out Ost bunkers.
I've used this a lot. I normally have problems early and mid but the late game is normally pretty good. Here is a replay where I had a rough start but had a good comeback. If you like seeing Elefants go up in smoke, you'll like this.
|
If someone who plays UKF in team games has time to look at the early game (up to 25 minutes) and let me know what to do differently, I would greatly appreciate it. I've been trying to pick up UKF but my early and mid game suck.
The whole replay lasts awhile so you may not want to watch it all. We were down 480 to 70 (roughly) and won 25 - 0. |
Thank,
But realy best way to deal with maxim spam, is play maxim spam. And learn what yours oponents do versus it. You learn very much. More, then from advices on forum.
Another way (not as effectively) is watching top players, but they start play more 2v2, then 1v1.
You are absolutely right:

rekt in 16 minutes, mvp = Maxim
Maxims are one of the worst units for scaling into the late game. I'd much rather face them than the penals/guards/T70 bs that some players do. |
i just watched that replay. your opponent missplayed that badly
and brummbar+gren+pak 40 were not enough to stop cromwell from killing the brummbar and it almost got away, so claiming that the brumbar beats the cromwell is even in this case pure bullshit
The Brummbar is pretty good against things like SU76's. They make a great meat shield in front of pak40's and wipe weapon teams like crazy. The Panzerwerfer is also okay. I like the Katy a little better but it still seems okay. The real issue with T4 is that it takes a long time to get there and is expensive. Also, the Panther needs some buffs. |
Here here! Especially the buff to moving accuracy. The Panther needs a defined roll that differentiates itself from StuGs (turretless TD with good Penetration). IMO it should be a mobile tankhunter that can utilize its speed and turret in a way that StuG's can't - otherwise you're almost always better off going multiple StuG's and compensating by protecting your flanks with Shreks and/or Mines.
I'd also suggest something fun like giving it Combat Blitz (the OKW version that gives you improved accuracy) at Vet 0 and then giving it some other minor Vet 1 bonus in its place - maybe shifting some of its improved health/armor from Vet 2 to Vet 1 so you get it sooner?
Way I see it is you either need to buff Panther or somehow buff the T4 Teching price to make the live version of the Panther worth the cost of going for.
The pintle MG on the Ost Panther does need a buff.
I got bored with playing USF or UKF and played mostly OKW and Ost this last week. The OKW Panther seems okay, but shouldn't cost more than a Comet (probably a little less). The Ost Panther was completely underwhelming. It doesn't do anything that a Stug G can't do, and costs twice as much fuel. There is nothing more annoying than diving in after a badly damaged tank and having multiple misses in a row, followed by having to retreat it (without killing the wounded tank)and take an eon to get back into battle while engineers repair it. If you spend the resources to tech T4 and get a Panther, it ought to be good for something that T3 doesn't do.
PS - current Tiger seems underwhelming also, like a really expensive damage sponge. |
