They still do, but that doesn't mean you drive through an area where he PROBABLY has an AT gun recklessly.
Game sense is important here.
I don't drive them recklessly but I also don't even try to use them to scout front lines once medium armor is on field. One shot from either ATG or tank and small arms fire/snare can finish them. I don't want them to have more health just better evasion vs ATG/Armor |

Yep, damage was never an issue to begin with. TIMING, POPCAP AND COST WERE OFF
Also shock frontline is another clusterfuck of its own. Bye Bye KV8
I think damage needed toning down. Last night against 2 Volk schreck blobs with all models but about 60~% health one burst of KV-8 flame killed all but 2 models. I didn't feel bad though because the guy had built 3 ISG's and was instantly pinning all my conscripts and he was blobbing his Volks. I hope the KV-8 will still be able to punish blobs after this patch. We shall see |

Dev M will win with USA every game most likely and he usually loses few to zero VPs with his hyper aggressive USF play (scary he gets to use rifle company this time) so he will probably get his pick of faction if he ever goes to Ace game. Not sure who my soul is telling me will win LOL |
Don't scout with your vehicle if you don't want to be shot with surprise AT guns.
Light vehicles are fine. Halftracks might need some buffing, but considering how potent reinforcement is I'm not sure if it's actually necessary. They both have powerful weapon upgrades as well.
But light vehicles should be serving the role of mobile recon which is historical and provides good gameplay. They could all use a slight sight increase to have more relevance in late game. Only way light vehicle and tank have relevance now is of they get to Vet 2 where most get a massive sight increase or spotting scope +222 on certain Ostheer docs. T-70 at least has a recon mode where you trade fire power for vision. I think all non half tracks should get that option because if you lose them and you are in late game it's foolish to get a vet0 light vehicle/tank as getting it back to vet 2 for the sight bonus will be very perilous with all the AT around plus your army is at max size and you don't want vet 0 a micro heavy unit.
TL;DR we need recon options on most if not all light vehicles that aren't half tracks as they could then trade fire power for increased scouting fulfilling their historical role and keeping them relevant when medium and heavy armor hits the field. |
Your genuine optimism forces me to clarify I was making a satirical remark.
I myself won't believe it's happening until it's done.
Every time I think this is bad I go back to replays of snipers in 250's and M3's and Obers with LMG snipers and remember it was so so much worse. I don't know if I'm an optimist but I do try to be grateful because this game and its predecessor have given me over 1,000 hours of fun and the only other franchise that can say that is the total war series spanning from original shogun until Rome 2 which they screwed up so bad along with empire that I probably will never return.
Relic seems to be making progress in balance efforts considering they didn't hit most of these units with a nerf hammer like usual and instead did moderate changes. (Except my lovely KV-8) ![:( :(](/images/Smileys/sad.gif) |
Kv8 nerf seems a bit heavy handed imo, wouldn't be surprised if they end up with a smaller nerf after testing
Yeah most the nerfs are incremental here. But that's a nerf hammer on KV8 which should probably be reduced 25% then check performance not nearly 50% in one change. But we will see. |
I wont reccomend sniper agains this combo, because panzerfussiliere are 6 man , so you need to shoot 2 times to force retreat and 3 times to kill em instaed of only shoting 1 time to force retreat and 2 times ti kill (if you have 2 snipers)
Also new homing leigt will make quick work of them.

I would recomend stall in with teching to maxims and mortar to supress blobs and then kill em with mortars.
I can see replay first time tomorow then i can look at it , now i can help you only from my own experience.
Mines and Demos , they wipe squads and blobs , and blobbers are often mindless players that dont put sweeper with blob.
Stall in for kv8 + is2
He put huge mp in blob , so there wont be any fast vehicle , not even if he make raketens,
So you can just seal the deal with kv8 folloved by is2 and zis wall (2-3 zis) to hold agains panthers and panzer 4 and kingtiger
if you make mines , you have even big chance to destroy engine with it and then finish tank with zises.
Because you was lacking mapcontrol i would recomend fast teching or as you said t70 arive too late to have impact.
In very late game you can tech for katty (great blob killer) and suchkas to give is2 better support.
And last protip. Fire incendiary barrage behind blob , so when he retreat their cooked , if he stay he will will be cooked by kv8 and blown away by mortars.

Also kubel is easily countered by just maxim cause it can fire even when supressed and always outfire kubel , even supressed
thanks for reply. I always forget about demo charges when I am in game and need to stop a blob. I will definitely need it now that KV-8 is no longer a 2 second squad wiper which was my solution in current patch. |
As ostheer i often go 1 at gun + spotting 222 + covered by grens and telermines , because i cant afford loosing so much mp to unit i can live without.
As ukf you need 2 at guns to cover you centaur , but that is ok because he can do Ai job really well.
But why going double AT gun as soviets mid game ?
At time when oswind / panzer 4 arrive you will need onlY 1 AT gun and you will build just 1 Su76 so i dont see the point why you need 2 at guns the time when t 70 arrive , better to invest in guards , shocks , new maxim , healing , to increase map presence push him of and decrease his fuel and slow his p4. It maybe dont even arrive or you will steal pak or it will arive at time when its gg + it hit well positioned mine and you have su 76 and cosncripts with at nades.
I never go double zis as soviets until i get my kv8 becuase t70 can fight off everithing what is on ield right now and agains panzer 4 mines and 1 zis are more than enaught
I do often get an SU-76 instead of 2nd Zis but in 1v1 SU-85s are bad and T-34/76's suck in all modes so I still like a 2nd Zis as the barrage is very handy to dislodge MGs if I don't have a mortar...I noticed almost all the OCF SU games involved 2 or more Zis by the time 7-8 CPs came. |

Vehicle Flamethrowers
We tuned vehicle flamethrowers to make them more consistent across the board. We have reduced the damage on most heavy flame vehicles because it was over performing while increasing the damage on the wasp due to its underperformance.
Churchill Crocodile Flamethrower damage reduced from 12 to 10
KV-8 damage reduced from 16 to 10
Universal Carrier Wasp damage increased from 6 to 10

KV-8 needed to be nerfed but this is almost 50% reduction in damage...not sure that was quite called for. I think 25-30% would have been a good start...other than that everything looks really good but I am sure there will be some new things that crop up with the changes in addition to the outstanding things the community still wants fixed. |
