I fail to see how this has any bearing on how easy it is to play a faction, given the fact that three of the players on the opposing team have a combined total of 20 games, and two of of your own team have very few games between them.
This just tells me, it's noobs learning how to play the game. You just happen to have less noobs.
Play a good axis team, then come back and tell us how easy USF or Soviets are in big team games. |
Somebody say food?

Sometimes hitting the retreat button is the worst thing you can do. If you're going deep and finding yourself in trouble, it's sometimes better to manually move your troops out of harms way before retreating.
You might lose a squad, or even 2, but it's better than losing your entire infantry. High risk, high reward tictacs should be just that. High risk. |
Point taken Wombat, however, RTS and FPS cannot possibly be compared, due to learning curves.
Any RTS worth it's salt will either have some kind of competent match maker (SC2), or it'll have a lobby for games, that's intuitive to use, so that noobs can set up noob friendly zones (VCoH).
Coh2 has neither. |
I don't know Romeo, they have a new release coming out in 30 days. Lot's of potential new buyers out there, who might be playing the free weekend.
Also thanks for taking time out of your busy Hollywood schedule, to post in this thread Owen! |
So, I've had a few multiplayer games this weekend, with the guys I roll with, and well, been constantly matched against players in for the free weekend.
How is it even possible to be matched against these poor guys? It feels how I imagine killing a helpless puppy must feel, looking up at me with those sad little eyes, whimpering, whilst I take a meat cleaver out and promptly chop it's head off. This doesn't feel good to me, and I'm pretty sure it doesn't feel good to that poor free weekender.
So at the end of tomorrow, when the free weekend is over, I'm pretty sure for most of these guys who joined in for the free weekend, if they've dipped their toes into multiplayer, are going to have a lasting impression of being slaughtered.
This also showcases just how bad the matchmaker is. There are plenty of people online, with roughly 65-35% split for the factions. There must have been a better match up for both teams, in the numerous games I've played.
Is this a good idea ultimately for marketing? Well played Relic, well played... |
Maybe I have it wrong. Where are you based out of? Maybe post your player card/steam page so I can see?
If I have it wrong, I'd like to apologise. |
Or maybe reducing the supression values when it's not deployed, so after 1s in supression mode followed by some burst while moving doesn't supress your units.
AND/Or increase the time before "real" supression kicks in so it works like any other MG which needs to deploy first.
But every unit has a suppression value. If you've been pinned by an MG for example, the mg retreats for whatever reason, and another inf squad keeps firing on the pinned squad, it will stay suppressed for a long time. As I understand it, there is a suppression meter, that's not visible on the ui.
I think that's what's happening when you see the kubel suppressing on the move. |
I seriously don't mind the suppression, it's the fact it has basically zero set up time, and absolutely zero tear down time.
It should be scout, but if you want it in suppression mode, it should live by same rules as HMG's. |
Yup Puma comes waaaaay too early for how effective it is. Another thing wrong with OKW, plus with the truck that Puma comes in, you get to transfer muni to fuel, so meh.
Sorry Kamk, your argument doesn't hold up well. |
