this was a good back and forth match at one moment i loose entire map and he locks me down with hordes of riflemen.
the unit that saves the day are panzer grenadiers man they are awsome.
Highlights
1) assault grens cutoff harrasment ( not sure wat to do with them they are bad)
2) sacrifice pioneers due to my bad micro
3) loose map control to hordes of Rifles poor scout car micro again
4) get a stug out to take out his AA HT and he gets zooks
5) panzer grenadiers turn the tide as 1 squad in building just eat up atleast 2 RF squad and a LT.
6) intersting engagement with sherman vs panzher grenaders in halftrack (dont want to spoil the wat happens)
7) i show up with tiger and bait his jacksons to panzer grenadiers shreck ambush
8) he doesnt seem to learn and gets his jacksons baited again.
he gives up.
i dont see panzer grendaiers in highlevel play not sure why as im new to this faction (may be because of reinforcement cost)
i think PGs are good vs rifleman in locations where the engagements are medium to close range. |
Try not to clump your unit.
well i do put them seperately but when attacking a tank they need to close in to fire shreck i use sprint from stormtrooper doctrine to close in as soon as i stop and fire the shreman wipes one squad |
ive noticed that whenever i get 2 squads of panzer grenadiers with 4 shrecks one squad gets wiped every time either to a grenade or to 1 shot from sherman HE round, it strange that it is happening very consistently |
Worth it for the tactical movement imo, use cloak and hold fire till they are close, then pop tactical movement
ill try this out to cap VPs, not sure if terrain affects tactical movement like in winter maps is tactical movement effective? |
this was a novice level fight as im still learning ostheer, my opp used forward hQ and just spammed that call in AT guns ( 6 of them) which for some reason does damage to medium armor (P4s). So he puts up Fwd HQs everywhere and camps near it.
i was like this is the moment i was waiting for as i could use the Close the pocket effectively and it did work very very well he surrendered as his entire army gets wiped out. Its amazing ability you get like Stuka dive bombs + some heavy artileery and light mortar rounds in rapdi suceession all around the cutoff points and it auto targets and gives you vision of all enemy points for some time ( i think wheren ever a stuka dives ) |

So I had a look but couldn't find much in the way of info on this interesting unit.
I would like to get some feedback from different players about how you all use it and if you think it's worthwhile or how to get the most out of it.
I used it for the first time in a long while the other day with the LeIg and it actually seemed to be quite useful. I was on Faymondville approach and I was able to use the LeIg to bombard units performing repairs, capping points or setting up garrisons while thinking they were safely in the Fog of War.
It was also just generally handy to know where units were moving around the map so I could move to intercept them before reaching my cut-off or sending squads to go de-cap where they weren't.
I hate the fact that the enemy will know you have IR HT as it highlights the units for enemy as well had it been incognito it would have been great but as of now the opp will be aware of its presence and they will avoid or mislead you knowing that you have got one. |

Question do you use the american HMG? From my experience it cost more, but does less then any other HMG's out there. It has no survivability, supresses poorly and kills poorly. What is your experince with this paticular unit?
US faction build encourages aggressive play so everyone gets a M20 or go with the mobile supression AAHT its just that the HMG wont keep up with the rest of forces, if you need a superssion RE units with bars will do the job in 2 secs ( i meant volley fire with BAR). |
Sure, you can vet KT, JT, Stuka, but it costs a fortune in fuel to do so, and they have to sit in base while you do it.
it does cost a lot for KT or JT but im sure there must me some unit in OKW that benifits more without costing a lot. say like raketen. |
I was jsut fooling around with AI hard battles and i noticed that you can use Ostheer Elite Troops Doctrine to vet up OKW forces this is amazing as you can vet up a KT or JT or a stuka not sure if this is intended |
