Thread: 2 panzer grenadiers with 4 shrecks always get wiped27 Oct 2014, 04:26 AM Jump back to quoted post26 Oct 2014, 21:41 PMKurobane If you are going against Americans I would advise against building Panzer Grenadiers as you need to deal with the heavy infantry presence. Grenadiers are a much better option especially if you can manage to Panzerfaust an enemy tank to allow for your Pak to pick it off. Build teller mines often and as early as you can. Usually you can expect a light vehicle (usually armored car or the flak halftrack) or a stuart early on. Place them on roads and on your flank areas. Also place them along your retreat path. In the event that you need to fall back players will often over extend and chase to get some extra kills which would allow you to punish them for that. If you do make Panzer Grenadiers with Panzershreks, try to keep them near a Pak to protect it from getting circle strafed. i feel panzer grenadiers are much better vs US they turned the tide for me in this battle http://www.coh2.org/replay/25928/panzer-grenadiers-save-the-day-eat-hordes-of-rifles In: Ostheer Strategies

From what i have faced i feel that jacksons are much better investment than an AT gun, US AI are not that bad in their role but they get easily de-crewed for some reason and its frustrating to give an OKW player your AT. Jacksons perform better vs panther get atleast 2 of them out in dont get more than 1 sherman. Try these bad boys man they are awsome make sure you use some armor pen bulletins if you have. i also feel that AAHT is better than sherman as you can bait them into jacksons pluse it supress the panzer fussi blob here is a replay where Tiger ace gets shredded in seconds with 3 jacksons ( although intial use of them is a bit sloppy but you can see a good AAHT harrasment to deny his infy pushes and jacksons to cover his tank pushes. http://www.coh2.org/replay/25586/why-you-should-not-send-tiger-ace-in-fog-of-war In: US Forces Strategies

The damned early game infy for US is ridiculous...they just bum rush right through....with minimum micro, even the MG42 is usless... Thanks I am having fair amount of success using panzer grenadier vs US RF blobs they seem to be extremely effective vs Rifleman keep your 222 far behind and PGs infront, cut down your T1 grenadiers to save for T2 PGs, mix atelast 1 or 2 of them along with grenaiders and you should see the difference plus in late game you can always upgrade them to shrecks and put them next your pak40 to cover you armor retreat. Only a P47 rocket strike or m10/m36 can take on a tiger . US has the best non doctrinal tank destroyer in game, you sir are not aware of jacksons 2 of them can kill a tiger in seconds usually in 2v2 3 jacksons are best they will eat all armor none of their shots fail to penetrate as far as i have seen(i use 3 armor pen bulletins may be that gives it an edge). Watched the replay, cool stuff and well done for a relatively new player Personally, I would probably not use that strat on opens maps like this, although you made it work. Pios good when they have plenty of cover and flanking routes. On the more open maps, Conscripts/Rifles will beat them if microed correctly. Should be some guides and replays floating around on standard Ostheer builds. Aside from that, you gave yourself a lot to micro in this game. You could have gotten tanks faster. But it all comes with practice and you did well. Oh and don't forget minesweepers on your pios, best 30 munitions you'll ever spend! Keep it up Thanks for the adivice, i used it again with a good player he was also confused as he saw pioneers flanking and rushing his 2 conscripts this time i get oswtwind in 8 min mark, without this build i almost never win initial engagments and when i loose initial engagements i get locked down with Maxims. i cant share replay as this site's parser seems to be having problems. will upload it once its fixed but this is a good strategy if there are no maxims in early game else its hard.
