Hi, Relic made some good changes to OKW in the December patch, however I feel they didn't do enough. I understand that OKW is over performing right now and these changes should remedy that.
OKW's central theme is that of a small, specialised force, Volksgrenadiers defy this. My changes involve and unit shuffle and adding a new unit to their roster. I was thinking that Panzerfusiliers could be swapped out with Volksgrenadiers, this would place a close range anti-infantry and a long range anti-infantry specialist in T1. Panzerfusiliers' AT grenade would also synergise well with the Raketenwerfer while not giving them supreme AT capabilities.
Also I recommend putting Panzerjaegers in T2, give them the Stormtrooper skin and 4 models. They would cost 350 manpower and start with a Panzerbusche and for 60(90?) munitions upgrade to a Panzerschreck. This would discourage blobbing with their high cost.
If people are still worried about blobbing, then give OKW infantry incredibly high upkeep, this would reflect on Germany's lack of manpower by 1944 while stopping spam.
Volksgrenadiers could be placed in a doctrine. This is just me brainstorming so any feedback would be appreciated. |
I want my IS-2 and couple ATG ready by the time P4 arrives.
1. Move sniper to T3. And put MG34 on its spot.
So... You want a heavy call-in to come out at the same time a stock medium does?
Also, moving sniper to T3 would make him useless... |
Unfortunately (or fortunately, I suppose), the logic that makes people talk about German armour superiority on online forums is the same logic that the third reich kept pumping into their tank designs and helped cost them WWII.
But hey. Maybe the Maus would have looked cool parked on the steps of the Kremlin. Gotta be worth it, right?
Yes, as the war progressed the Germansgot more and more stupid in tank design, Panther was probably the best (once they fixed its major issues). But after that, Elefants, Jagdtigers, King Tigers and the Maus etc. All too slow and too cumbersome to do much. Their logic was effectively, more armour + bigger guns = win? |
I think that the Sturmtiger could go on there, perhaps the ISG.
ISG seems a bit too random, I'm not sure, I have yet to see it supress unless it actually snipes a squad member.
Sturmtiger is a troll unit, and I also despise gimmicks, it's the prime One-Trick-Pony
Anyhow I vote Irregulars, atleast Partisans can deploy behind lines. |
Less than 2000 tiger I & 2 tanks were produced throughout the war. For a similar price, 30,000 T-34-85's were produced brand new, with the '76 hull being put to use elsewhere or retrofitted.
Well when people talk about German armour superiority (atleast when I do) it is usually on a 1:1 basis, in theory with a T-34/76 vs say, a Panther. The Panther would probably win, granted if there were no mechanical failures. In truth however the Germans were never able to exploit their tank advantage (fortunately) as 1 Panther cannot win against 10 T-34s. |
CAS is fine IMO, for those complaining about it countering B4 or Howis, LeFH can be countered in the same way. That is ultimately the problem with static artillery, it is too easily countered. The doctrine is fine in 1v1 and little OP on 2v2, gets OP in 3v3 and 4v4, BUT so do most doctrines. |
LeFH needs a buff, but so does the ML-20, however ML-20 is better than LeFH so it needs less of a buff. I feel Ostheer Mortar is worse than soviet mortars, slightly though. Mortar Half-Track is fine and Stuka-Zu-Fuss could use a re-work, less precision but saturation with reduced AoE but shorter CD perhaps. |
Wespe, Grille, Hummel, Hetzer, Jagdpanther, MarderIII, Nashorn, PzIII, StuGIV, StuH. There are a lot of units to be used, but the main question remains: Can they create "Unique gameplay"? This is more important than the faction being German or Italian or anything else.
Some of those could be different and unique, some however probably not. StuG IV would be exactly like StuG III (practically) StuH would overlap with Stug E, just with bigger splash. Some of those also cancel out, Wespe and Hummel are same (SPG) one is worse though. Marder and Nashorn overlap aswell. Jagdpanther would be welcome. same as Panzer III. This is just however the problem with the Germans in WW2 though, too specialised and too much overlap. |
I like plane crashes on map, it looks cool and gives perspective of air and ground forces. HOWEVER the fact they can wipe entire armies, kill tanks etc is not right. My thoughts would be to have infantry get out of the way, (I.E. they look up and run/dive out of impact zone). Also they shouldn't be able to land in base area. Vehicles are tricky, on one hand they shouldn't survive direct crash, that would look stupid, though it is cheap for a tank to get nuked by a kamikaze. Maybe provide a hitbox around tanks that planes avoid when crashing, meaning they will adjust and fall next to one instead of on one. |
Shoot them.
I believe they were dead, not crawling. |
