It seems the vast majority of posters here seem to only be thinking of balance vs the OKW which is still hard on the US. They pay almost no attention to how bad the Wehrmacht has it vs the US right now. That match up is so lopsided that any one mistake early game or mid game for the Wehrmacht is gg. In: COH2 Balance

Heck the only real "tough" assault troops on allies is Shocks. Thompson Paras have higher DPS but they aren't that survivable. Pgs and Storm troops are the same unit and relatively squishy ones without vet at that. Ill give you STG obers but the doctrine they come in is rarely used. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Thoughts on the Blob, Hard/soft counters24 Oct 2014, 18:26 PM Jump back to quoted post22 Oct 2014, 16:30 PMwongtp its because blobs are usually armed with massive long ranged dps. its not really about the suppression or the effectiveness of hmg. the thing is blobs more or less are going to kill the gunner on the 1st burst of fire within the 1st burst of fire. so unless hmg are going to suppress in the 1st burst, blobs are going to be superior. and honest, i doubt anyone sane wants hmg to have that kind of suppressive capabilities. so the solution is rather simple, tone down long range firepower on infantry weapons. but will german players be willing to give up their lmg superiority? i fucking doubt so. Only if allied players are willing to give up their monopoly on tough close assault troops. In: COH2 Balance

It doesn't matter which squad you pick it up with. It's a bigger dps increase to put it on an RE than it is a rifle because a garand has higher dps than an m1 carbine so you lose less by replacing the carbine. That was the point I was trying to make. By buffing bars you indirectly make rear echelons better because they can purchase weapon upgrades. I'd like to see them rebuff bars again and see how that shakes things up. Top level players were utilizing rear echelons as replacements for rifles late game because of that. In: Lobby

Clearly cheapest unit in the game means nothing to you. Least of all that given weapons, these squads perform way above their cost. High level players were spamming these not two patches ago for a reason. You want to buff RET fine, but they should not be allowed to pick up weapons. The problem is bars are an awful upgrade for rifles right now because they already have such high DPS. In order to make them worth it they must be a sizeable upgrade for rifles. And when they are that means that RET with these upgrades will be able to out DPS and win for cost against squads they shouldn't be beating. In: Lobby
