T1 in the hands of a player with half brain is uncounterable, oshteer has absolutely nothing that can kill snipers, okw has the lunchs but it's a very risky choice between guards and 30 muni mines everywhere, plus usually you either do t1 + t2 yourself or your mate will have to support you with AT guns (even an airdropped AT from the airborne doc will do wonders)and nothing will stop you, seriously, the soviet snipers aren't support, they win you games single handedly, without even touching the subject of M3s absolutely raping OKW, infact when I play axis if the soviet went T1 I have to send a gren squad over to the OKW or he's really fucked. |
Make MGs effective at supressing infantry and magically all blobs will disappear. |
From the mid of minsk up to the base MGs, I've once followed 2 soviet snipers with a 222, not a single model of them died, needless to say, I've never made one again.

It would be embarrassing for Relic if the community had to mod their game to make it competitive or even flat out work properly years after it released. And then started tournaments(that Relic wanted to start)that actually attracted people to a balanced multiplayer.
It won't be a story of how one company's game grew a large modding community that improved upon a great product and attracted so many people that it grew into a competitive sport (like Starcraft). It would be about how one company was so slow and produced such lack luster game fixes that the community gave up on them and did it themselves.

No unit should spawn out of nowhere, it's beyond retarded, that's why that should be removed by falsch,jagers,sturms and partisians, while partisans could retain the trait to be able to completely stealth while in a building, so that you can setup ambushes like that.
But yes, like a poster pointed out before, partisans are extremely annoying to play against and i'd rather never see them viable in the current state of teletrasportaion technology. |
This is purely theorical as I've yet to try it, though I wanted some thoughts on it:
I was thinking about a starting pio > gren > pio > gren > pio > gren build to use on Urban maps (such as stalingrad) specifically against USF and con spam/T1 soviet, the idea would be to keep your units in pair, 1 pio, 1 gren, as it's obvious grens would cover the long range damage, while pioneer flank or act as counter initiation for squads that try to close in on grens (like penals and cons, but later on shocks aswell if they are equipped with flamers).
The idea of this build is to make oshteer abit less static and defensive than it is right now (but should still be extremely careful of when and where to engage) as pioneers' damage isn't half bad if they are relegated to a support role for grens, ofc, if needed you can always mix in a mortar or mg.
The first Issue that one could have with this build would probably be how pios scale late game, I personally think they would do fine, repairs are always needed, flamethrowers are great on urban maps and to counter close quarters units and a minesweeper to clear up the soviet's mines aswell as having the map presence to place mines everywhere you want with 3xpios.
It's also intesive munitions wise, so perhaps an appropriate doctrine for it would be needeed.
So any thoughts? Maybe someone tried this before me? How did it go? |
