The British glider in Alpha actually used to be salvageable.
Which made no sense, as gliders are... Gliders.
.
According to your theory it would also make no sense to collect fuel from an abandoned mortar/hmg, because you know, mortars are... mortars. Gliders should be salvageable as any other vehicle. And british tranches should be able to accommodate enemy units too. |
I fought once vs a Bofors and while it was braced I could nearly destroy it, the bofors became abandoned and I could get into it.
That was GG for the rest of the game. MVGAME
Yes but don't ever try to cap it before repairing it a bit or you will lose it together with the men that caped it, to a single bullet. MVGAME.
Also, I don't understand why british trencehs cannot be taken by the opponent. That is stupid. In vCoh they could be taken by enemy soldiers and that was pretty normal. |
5 year plan? sounds like communism is back
In every corporation today there is a large dose of communism: brainwashing, dictator, no disidents allowed. |
I am getting sick of seeing entire units just vanish to the wonder weapons the Brits have. I have encountered multiple players that just rush a bofors, shutting down parts of the map and me not suspecting such a quick bofors immediately losing a squad because as soon as the bofors sees them they get insta deleted. This especially happens on Semoisky and Kholodny ferma.
if by some miracle I get to the late game after the bofors abuse, yes I have had certain players put 3 on the map rendering any offensive movement virtually impossible,I always get to face the crocodile. Now you might say, put tellers down and get a pak wall. Tellers never seem to damage Brit tanks that much, I have had multiple crocodiles, churchills and cromwells just run over my teller mines and not getting any damage. Paks simply can't kill the crocodile before it kills them.
Get a panther you say, sure I do get a panther, but here comes the RAF. Complete with rocket anti tank and anti infantry strafes, damaging and killing models in my base, denying me further offensive maneuvers with my tank or tanks, yeey. If this isn't enough, sometimes I get bombarded by like 7 planes that wipe an entire section of the map.
Now you might say, l2p noob, if the Brits can get their late game munitions abilities, you played bad and should deserve such punishment. I agree completely if this wasn't a l2p issue. All the brit players I play against on maps like Semoisky and Kholodny ferma don't play offensive, they simply rush a bofors, then go for another one and another one, getting two or three in total, denying me further movement and just camp the game out.
Untill I get multiple paks, which can get wiped easily by invisible commandos and multiple infantry sections, or get a heavier tank (medium tanks can get killed by the bofors sigh), I can't destroy them. I tried double mortars, they simply swarm the mortars or go after them with a wasp.
by this stage the crocodile appears, the camping brit has accumulated masses of ammo and can constantly reuse his RAF strafing support near my base sector, which will strike in my base sector. It will chase off my panther or any other tank I have.
I tried double panther once, the game dragged on longer and longer, me constantly losing more units due to trying to dislodge the camping brit, but it doesn't work. He simply gets a 17 pounder emplacement as well and gets 1 or 2 at guns. As soon as I attack, the at guns show up, the crocodile comes to fry my infantry and he pops the Strafing support, rendering my tanks useless in the face of this onslaught.
Now mind you, I don't mind getting out played by a better player, but this is just broken as fuaark. This is pretty much game breaking. Via this playstyle, you can not counter the brits, you can't counter the bofors, you can't counter the crocodile, you can't counter the RAF, since you don't have enough fuel to get a panther and an ostwind.
How on earth do you fight this cheese and abuse of broken game design and playstyle?
(rant and advice thread in one, directed at balance, because this is unbalanced as shit)
Yes, bofors it's a pain in the ass. I haven't played 1v1 against brits yet, but from my 2v2s I can tell that mortar ht works wonders against emplacement and especially bofors. It's to bad you don't own spearhead, was a good doctrine in the past now it's simply excellent. You still have festung which comes by default and I strongly suggest you use it. There is no other way to quickly deal with bofors.
I observed that the british players who trully know how to play are not relying on bofors, but 90% on mobile units. It's more efficient. |
Playing the faction yourself and seeing what people use against use helps immensely as well.
I don't own it. If I am sick of something, I am sick of Relic's way to milk money from us. But that's another storry.
I was looking for counters and that is how I discovered that (again and again, in the past and these days also) MHT is one of the most usefull units in the game. |
Adapt or perish. MHT every game.
Amen. Long live the only 2 ost doctrines that have it! |
I've been hearing little bits and pieces of complaining from everyone. Brit players say they have no good infantry, and very little ways to respond to MG's and snipers making the early game atrociously bad. Everyone else says there super op, their commandos do super high dps, there tanks are to tough, and the arve/croc and every other heavy tank is op.
Me personally, I think the most Op thing about the brits is by far the bofors gun. Thing wipes way to fast, but aside from that I can honestly say I don't feel their units are as over the top over powered as everyone suggests. For example everyone complains the brits commandos do way to much DPS, but the problem is they almost have to be at melee range before they do any DPS. They have clear strengths, but they also have clear weaknesses.
From what I experienced untill now, the units that need nerfs are the bofors and churchill (all variants). And why da faq is churchill moving so fast anyway? In reality it was moving like a coffin on wheels. It's absurd to whipe the entire map with one unit killing everything from infantry and at guns to medium tanks and being also fast about it.....
One more thing: is the logistic glider providing resources for partner too? If yes, I WANT MY OPEL BLITZ BACK, the way it was, providing resources buffs for allies too. |
And die to a single incendiary round from MHT.
...And how many people noticed that....? I bet not to manny .... |
hook line and sinker
Congrats on taking my bait
Could someone please re-BAN this nice person?
He is polluting my sight and everyone's else too. The ban hammer works like a little reminder for him: for a short while, he will behave again properly. |
+10 or however many people have agreed with this post.
I don't understand how "Tigers die too easily to tank destroyers" is even an issue. The Jackson is the only unit USF has to deal w/ these heavily armored, late-game Axis units, whether they be Tigers or Panthers or whatever. To that end, I thought they were a hard counter. I mean, lawd knows Zooks and 57 mm rounds are just gonna bounce off left and right.
So what's the actual rationale behind this proposed change? Who at the office is saying "USF has too strong of a late game" or "[either Axis faction] needs help killing USF armor." Because I haven't seen anyone say it here.
I think it's about proportions. By the time the heavies' number wasn't limited, I don't think to many people complained about this issue. TDs were having the range advantage, but Heavy tanks could compensate with numbers (for example, 2 instead of 1 on the battlefield) and people get shocked now seeing 3 TDs chasing a heavy around the map. The heavy tanks relevance in the game was seriously diminshed and this made some people uspet and they request for a compensation in exchange. I don't necessarely think it's bad, I'm just stating the obvious. Therefore this little compensation in terms of range and penetration appears appropriate for me, we are somehow closing to historical reality (Tiger had a huge range and its amo could penetrate targets at 2000 m), but I don't think we need more. Well, you can't please everyone, that's for sure. |
