Well, I had the same thoughts about Wehrmacht in CoH1 first. I thought US ranger squads is unstoppable terminators... But after I have realized how to organize good defense to buy time for tech up. And well, poor rangers, ahahahah!
Maybe in CoH2 Wehrmacht also could organize good defense?..
In COH1 you can buy veterancy in wehrmacht's case. In COH1 you have med bunkers that can make you zombie squads. In Coh1 you have passive abilities like zeal which is quite good.
...you will find COH2 a little more... challanging let's say.
The only better thing is that the cheating phenomenon is more rare in COH2 though it still exists.
But anyway, play and see, if I tell you more things people will call me again a biased person. You will draw your own conclusions. |

No. Wehrmacht it's a sturdy faction in COH, in COH2 it looks nice and shiny, great concept but in battles will disappoint you quickly. They are verry weak.
Does Wehrmacht has Panthers in CoH2?
Yes, they have, as expensive and almost unreachable like in coh1. Good units, alltough but you pass trough hell untill you build one.

I don't think it's such a good idea unless you are bored and want something new. After playing COH2 since beginning I begin to think that COH1 was a better game. Be ready to spend money on DLCs and OP commanders that you will want to buy to win. |

But that is the problem, as I said it in the past. He should not be that way, he should be a sniper as Ostheer has. And my example was not nonsensical, because it clearly ilustrate my point. To counter its verry counter it's bad design in my opinion and not just because of that, but because of lack of counterplay. Okay, as ostheer let's say I can counter with my ostheer sniper, because the 222 which is designed for sniper countering, cannot do that in british' sniper's case. In OKWs case, what one could do before a tommy wall backed by a sniper? Build a Puma and wait for that aimshot? As a concept, would you agree to build an IS2 just to counter a Panzer 2? Would that be fair? It's logical to oblige a fuel starved faction to take a development tree starting with the Puma building (tier) just to counter one unit?
See? That is why I think you are being highly unreasonable about this matter. I love assymetrical design but when you change one unit type's basic features and purpose, is wrong. |

There are tons of answers other forumites gave you to your "british sniper is not OP" little asertion. Why should I bother? Oh well.... It is OP because there is no other sniper in this game that can block/softcounter/ damage it's verry counter ( a unit that was created or has the role to counter him that is. If you disagree, just read the patch notes from Relic that specifically changed the kubel, 222, and other units such those to be more efficient on sniper hunt). Extend this feature to other units, for instance: Panzer 4 comes into scene and "blocks" the 57 mm AT gun (or any allied AT gun as you like) with one stunning shot. Nice, huh? |

the okw's two biggest weakness is infantry and (ironically) early vehicle. (By "early", I mean before the okw get enough munition for a schreck)
what the okw actually need is anti-infantry upgrade for the volks, because the flak halftrack and kubel are both too flimsy to be useful. Both luch and ober are decent but lack any crowd control ability. Even the grenadier lmg42 need mg42 for backup. The volks should get a dual mp44 package to help them against allied infantry.
Disagree, volks need better AI capabilities but by other means. Accuracy, damage, ROF health improvement. Pick one of those. OR make mg34 non doctrinal to help them.
Secondly, the okw is still vulnerable to an early vehicle rush, because most of their anti-tank weapon are mid-late game. nobody is going to build a raketen in the beginning, and there are simply not enough munition buy a schreck early on. This leave the okw extremely vulnerable to a sov m3 rush, or even the USF dodge truck. Volks should get faust by default to handle an early m3.
The schreck is also redundant, because the okw have access to some of the best anti-tank weapon in the game. The raketen, jpz4, Puma, pz4, panther, and king tiger are all terrific weapon.
All these because the shreck was nerfed some time ago while raketen received no buff at all, except that camo which is not a buff, it's rather a feature.
the volks' main role should be to protect their expensive and elite unit from the much more numerous allies units. Mp44+faust would give the volkgrenadier much better defensive capability, unlike their current schreck. Faust would also synergize much better with their already existing anti-tank unit. A vehicle with a damaged engine is easy prey for the raketen.
But a faust also costs amo every time you use it, and it will have poor effectiveness the moment you will deal with anything else but a halftruck or carrier. |
