The usual: flank, push, conquer.
Keep in mind that basic CPs also yield fuel, and ammo. Having the north can be worth way more than just parts of the south with fuel.
And you got plenty of indirect fire: Howis, Scotts, MortarHT, Priests.
Sure, USF base size, especially on the left spawn, current USF design overall, size of the map, and deep snow placements, aren't too great.
You already mentioned the Kat / ML20 madness, so i guess i don't have to mention how the map design is even more annoying as double OKW.
Anyways, decent map, just needs improvements IMO.

Kat & ML20 fest happens on the majority of maps atm. I just think it's a bit too small, especially the base sectors (yay USF base size), but overall the idea of the map isn't too bad, and it has a unique gameflow. In the current game build, I think the Ostheer sniper is close to where he needs to be. If you're talking about the sniper VS the UKF, I think it's too early for that discussion. Pretty much my thought. Half the stuff "seemed to be" greatly under- & overperforming, for obvious reasons. Talking about what may or may not be a problem with the release, without even taking overall faction design into consideration, is a bit... weird. ... You pretty much answered your own question An enemy wants to break your fortified and static position, and arty is an obvious choice. Your stuff won't run away, and depending on how much you bunch up, it will always hit something. Your options in a nutshell: - be more agressive, and push further - having more map control is always better - counter-arty - get units behind enemy lines, and kill it - in case of B4 / ML20: try Stuka bombs (offmap special from doctrines like Jaeger Armor, Close Air support, etc...) And most importantly: - spread out In general i would consider Axis to suffer more from all kinds of indirect AoE fire, but overall all factions have some sort of arty. If only there was more people who actually learned every aspect of the game before playing automatch. I get paired with people who have fuckin' 30 hours logged in total every single time I do 3v3.
