I meant 50 my bad. Anyway, if you button the p4, your at gun can get of 2 or 3 shots, bye bye p4 or it will be restricted to repair and off the field for almost 2 minutes. If it hits a mine, same thing, you will get off a few shots, maybe even kill it.
Yes grens win at long range when unvetted, but if the soviets close in, they will win, if I face a dp guard squad, I will lose, If I face a tokorov squad I will lose when they close in, if they have flamers, my squad better run. Thus get lmgs to secure advantage at any distance, unless it is extremely close range were shocks will rape you. Now I know one doctrine that will grant you great advantages here CAS
I myself never dare to skip t2 anymore, I have had such huge disasters with doing that vs soviets.
BTW, I have tried some strategies that surround 3-4 pumas vs the t34-85 meta. It works pretty well. With the new at nade nerfs, it can be even more potent.
You know what, you should maybe stop playing and found a game more "Balanced" cause your negative attitude is really painful to read at some point. |
Can't understand how people can still say Guards doctrine will be the meta. Maybe for the first week but when you'll release that Guards can't do shit vs Ost MG, Mortar has been nerfed hard and you have stug to counter t34-85, more diversity will raise from the ashes of the old meta...
IS2 and Tiger will continue to be really effective but will probably be deployed later, you will badly need to have mediums on the field to support them. Except if both players are playing like old meta
CAS + Tiger Ace will probably be above for Ostheer.
Armor, Airborn, rifles and infantry for USF since each of them let your skip or delay a tier without losing too much of its power. But I'll probably play all doctrines as USF, should be fun |
you don't sayyy. Still won't beat t34-85s, they are higly mobile and have a turret, that togheter with guard spam, at guns and marked target.... I fear for the stug G. But only time can tell
If you think like that all the time, I understand why you need so badly two Tigers to kill two T34-85... And probably why your are losing many of your games. |
I'm not a top Ost player but I have good success rate countering T34-85 with a swarm of Pumas (mobile defense doctrine). T1 + T2 + puma/command tank. I also used the doctrine and Puma swarm to counter Easy8 spam with success.
Vs Sov, the mortar was effectively a big problem and it has been addressed with a good nerf, I didn't test it during the alpha but regular Sov players were crying high when they did remove the precision strike and reduce the damage qualifying it as rubbish now.
People crying now that a Tiger can't counter t34-85 are simply retarded and honestly for most of them it doesn't surprise me reading their comments. Because yes a Tiger can counter two 85 and there is no need to cry for that, so now its time to think a bit further and start using other doctrines/strategies than regular tiger ones.
Sov is still on the top, and what the problem? You wanted to reverse the situation and have Ost/OKW on the top just by revenge? We all know the 1 heavy call-in meta is a huge nerf for Sov primarily which has nothing else than call-in to stay on the field past 10 minutes. 34-85 are the only last call-in they can use with a certain impact. If they go IS2, you can field 2 panthers. Stug have been highly buff and can provide an amazing mobile AT support. Now there are many new options available to counter Sov heaviest vehicles.
Guards have been nerfed, they can't anymore destroy a MG if the servant are alive. MGs will become far more durable vs them and since MGs will also be buff during the patch, Guards will lost a lot of appealing. A MG with a bit of support will be able to stop any swarm of cons/guards in no time. People who've been in the alpha know that.
About the patch note itself, I'm also disappointed by the cut Relic made "to not lost people with many changes". Alpha testers approbation should have been a good indicator of the community will to get those changes as fast as possible.
But For once, I'll support them, decision making at that level is not always easy. |
If you want them so badly you should probably consider to buy them. It is all about RNG, you can get 10 times the same useless bulletin in a raw and not even have what you wanted the 11th time when it is finally another one

This seems incredibly risky and I think the sniper should only be deployed as a mid to late game unit once you've secured your territory and have a proper combined arms force.
Not only do you limit map control, capping power and holding power, but it leaves you incredibly open to the LT/M20 push. You generally want to rush out that T2, or at least, I think that's what people still do vs USF. Against Con spam it'll work against the supports/elites who will inevitably support it, but just shooting the cons themselves, you've got to deal with another squad and a half and with things like Oorrahh!, you have a lot less breathing space to operate and are really depending on an MG42 to shut down more than one squad to even the fight when the big engagement of infantry occurs.
The problem is if you overextend, this is true. You have to keep your 1 pio + sniper + gren really close and add an MG42. I'm not going to say it works in every map and it hasn't counter, but bleeding your enemy is your best option. And honestly it is really cool to play with. |
People tend to play Ostheer the same way they play (or they face) Sov. OK Sov is actually above the 3 other factions and it will be the case till next patch.
Spaming gren + Mg42 isn't going to work to counter it.
Ostheer is giving full access to his T1 units with the condition to build the Festung. Sov can build cons out of T0 but must select to build T1 or T2 to get accept to the same variety of choice.
The solution to counter cons spam and USF is clearly the sniper, as 1,2 or 3 unit in your BO. But the sniper is a mandatory unit to play Ostheer today and still after the next patch.
Bear with it and learn to play with.
Note aside for the USF, you can bitch around riflespam as much as you want, the true is USF can't build anything else before 3-4 rifles. Next patch should bring a bit of variety, but from my experience in the alpha, do not count too much on that. |
I'm not entierly sure, it didn't really made much sense why X infantry was bullet proof but snipers could hit it even on retreat while another while still resilient to bullets seemed to be wet from gas and popping like matches when flamer was near.
Removal of damage tables improved infantry combat a lot. Target priority was a bigger concern.
Wirbelwind also could do it.
Churchills could do it with ability.
PE G43s and BARs could suppress on the move with the ability.
Well you do what you want with the table but at least you can modulate units dps and hard counters. In Coh2, a powerful unit is a powerful unit and you can only nerf it or up it vs class inf or tank.
|
Removing Damage table per units was a bad idea for the balance. |
Johnny, I have ever heard about shemale? be careful
Losing 3 tigers vs a IS2 is really really bad but doesn't mean IS2 is overpowered. And you probably didn't had those 3 Tigers at the same time vs a single IS2. |
