Instead of HVAP round, Jackson should have a permanent upgrade.
Vanilla Jackson from T3 could be adjusted to only be good vs medium. Then an individual upgrade would make it better vs heavies but losing powerness vs medium.
Anyway, in the current USF format design the Jackson will never be balanced. I mean, it is as per design supposed to counter medium, heavies and super heavies for the only reason USF does not have anything else to do so. So how can you balance it?
The other option is to bring back the vcoh barrel upgrade on the sherman here again as an individual upgrade. So you can upgrade your sherman to fight mediums and then have the Jackson only specialized vs heavies and super heavies. In fact what Mr.Smith and the mod team introduced with the mechanized doctrine but as stock option for the sherman with a AT power buff. Those upgraded shermans would lose their IA power as an exhange.
for 5 range it's not gonna change much theys still out range (and afterall rak is good at gun with 50 range right ? Everyone in the forum says it or you are an axis fanboy so changing the range to 55 for 360 turret Td should not change much)
If it not gonna change much, what do you want to change it?
Because it the only stock TD it does not mean that the USF do not have other tools to deal with meduims.
Their ATG can deal with mediums (far better than the RW), every singe infantry can pick bazookas, paratroopers now get super bazooka, they have access to mines, Sherman can stand up to ostheer PzIV, they have access to M10, even Stuart can assist vs mediums.
Then why again Ostheer has Stug? After all they have pak40 and shreck.
I don't think this is absolutely correct tbo. Usually I have no problems in bashing Relic, but you have to keep in mind as well that DoWIII was (not only) bad because of how the game was implemented, but it flopped because of being some kind of League of Legends clone that nobody wanted. And I am pretty sure that the decision for this did not came from Relic but from SEGA because MOBAs where the best selling games at the time and are still now.
It has been demonstrated that this decision was Relic and those who took it and supported it have left the company.
This is sheer nonsense IMO. All allied factions can get both light and medium tank at a reasonable time, but OKW has to sacrifice healing, yet get their medium tank a bit later than allies do.
SOLUTION: Allow OKW to pick medics/repairing pioneers to be upgraded regardeless of the truck, so you can get medics if you go either Battlegruppe or Mechanised (but with Mechanised you will lose the luxury to have medics and ratreat point in one building in the lategame, because you will have to pick engineers in battlegruppe)
PS: I dont want to start a fanboy war and as you know me I am anything but a fanboy towards one faction, I like to play all of them and want to enjoy playing all of them. With OKW I do not have any problems and I think that their army is balanced compared to allied armies and they are surely not left behind when it comes to their raw DPS. They are, however, falling behind when it comes to chosing basic tools like reliable healing or proper AT gun.
That's a flaw in WFA army design. I have the feeling forcing T1 and T2 to be deployed for USF and OKW before being able to get T3 would solve many problems with the according fuel and MP price adjustment for all of their units.
What you are proposing would probably brings back OKW into OP state, having all tools and upgrades available with 1 building.
I think you should align your expectations with what is possible to achieve. Of course Relic isn't going to allow any modding team to completely rework the game. There is a need to a certain continuity with what is in place and how to balance it. And I don't really understand what you said about the M10, the unit is now tied to tier3, USF doesn't have anymore an emergency tank at disposal.
That's hard to say what the meta will be, people are trying a lot of stuff now, nothing relevant can come so early after the patch.
What I have seen as USF on 2vs2 is a return of HMG spam from both Ostheer and OKW. In this matter Rail&Metal / Minsk / karkof are still insta-ban for me. USF mortar can smoke yes, but not two area at the same time and multiple HMG make it impossible to progress.
Still there is a lot to test and try to figure out what the meta will be.
