I have always advocated moving shrecks from volks, as it is both horribly unauthentic, and the core of all imbalances with okw infantry and light vehicle play.
Shrecks don't belong on volks, sturmpioneers, and not fucking obersoldaten.
An entirely new unit is NEEDED.
My suggestion.
Built in Med HQ. 4 man squad, 300 mp, 90 munition shreck, equipped with mp40s. Side upgrade for volks to equip 2x stg package and panzerfausts.
This gets rid of expendable blob infantry. Makes volks less hideous frankenstein unit. Fixes fucking shreck issues for good. A player wouldn't be able to viably afford more than 2 shreck squads unlike how easily we can have 4-6 volk shrecks. Then we can increase volk costs to like 260, and give them some mp40s and stgs.
This would be the best possible solution I could think of.

So what is okws defense against vehicles? Go t2 or fucking die? Racketen is fine in t0. Bad change. Dont agree with obers being 340 mp or t2 infantry. Scotts coming at 6 minute mark would be broken. Scotts can't handle getting rushed down by panther late game with no jackson support. With nothing to threaten them early-mid game they will simply be untouchable firing high explosive death from range. Surely you can't say I'd have to rush down scotts with racketenwerfers firing from 60 range. Not with non doc smoke I can't.
Leave scott ass is, and buff health to 360-400.
Like I said, give volks panzerfausts, then you can use that in conjunction with raketen. Don't see the big deal, other factions have been doing this forever. I would rather see OKW suffer a little if it means the entire game becomes better, because volk spam is fucking horrid. |

- Shreck removed from volks, they get one additional model @vet5. Dedicated AT unit buildable in T4.
- Rak43 Cost increased to 320, Moved to T2 (What is this hit and run bullshit)
So, how is OKW supposed to counter early vehicles with 0 AT early game?
Give them fausts, and use raketen in conjunction, ever played Soviets thats how they do it. |

Seriously, it's tiring now. It's actually making me despise one of my favorite games. Just remove the schrecks and give them fausts already and they are fine. If someone whines that they "Need an upgrade" then give them a 2 MP44 upgrade for 60 or whatever, just remove the freaking schrecks.
The game is freaking BORING on allies side because of this. You join a game, see 2 OKW and you want to kill yourself.

Main problem to this is that there isn't a dedicated AI solution for Volks. If you would give them the choice between AI or AT (Like Stormtroopers have) you will see lot less Panzerschreks.
Stormtroopers give you the chance to go STG44's, Panzerschreks or if you got the Elite Troops Doctrine the G43's. Therefore you can make your troops more dedicated. Give them an AI option and the problem could be solved.
Give them grenadier fausts then. I don't care what they have just enough of the schreck blobs already it's obnoxious. |

Wut? The USF .50? The halftracks? Fast Luchs wipes those with a quickness. You're lucky to have the Captain out by then to counter the Luchs. Pain in the azz Kubel decapping your gas income ensures that because your rifles constantly dealing with that blob.

You make handheld AT worthless then. Because vehicles already outrange handheld AT. People can already kite squads. That change would just make it stupidly easy to avoid shreks, and you effectively destroy okw vs light armor rushes. Now if racketen had 60 range it could work. But it doesn't. So no.
OKW is good, does everything balance-wise have to revolve around OKW?
Anyways I would rather see volks just get a standard panzerfaust like Grenadiers and lose their schrecks all-together, problem solved. If anyone doesn't like that conscripts would like a word with you as they have been using combined arms to down tanks since the games release. |
