I myself always thought that CoH3 (or another name for the game mechanics, for that matter) would be situated on Korea. The weapons and tactics were fairly similar, and at the same time some great changes came, such as the jet fighter. You even could easily make 4 factions with the main contenders (China, NK, US, SK), with a 5th right after (UN forces).
I don't think that Korean War is so dead to the market, but it could be very difficult to make single player content to break the sales. There was a great game called People's General, turn-based, that roughly touches this setting (but set during modern days). |
USF is unique in a sense of you must take the initiative, put pressure, being aggressive. You just can't sit around and wait for your next tier.
This is the statement about USF. If, for any reason, you stop doing pressure, you are using it wrong. USF must be really well microed, because there should be constant pressure and maneuvering. Don't lose men, use well your major and keep moving. It's almost a dance. |
I always get good results with Katiusha. But I make sure that it fires close to the desired target. |
SERIOUSLY how are you a strategist
The job was open, he applied to it, he is a fairly high ranked player, and I'm sure that 9/10 times he could beat the crap out of me or you on a 1v1.
I kinda agree with him, but I'd put the price tag a little lower than Firesparks proposed - 20 muni |
dont listen to ather ppl thet say OH is weak OH is not OP ,
we need to fight awer way to a better ballance
i have more then 700 hours gameplay No.500 with OH and usf on the LEADERBOARDS so i am the avrage player
1. OH greens granads no timer [ but u can hear they scream granade !!! hoo and witch group is it if i have 5 goups all in fight ?
german animation is harder to see when they shoot the granade german troop sit and shoot wille
usf\sovits\UKF throw it u can clearly see the moving guy with the granade [his hand ]
so gemans have the animation and the timer to react wille allice need to pray god
2.german armore is so good ppl will say ye thets how it was in ww2 but guys its a game we need ballance
wuts harder to control 1 good german armore like a panter or 3 shurmans with shurmans u need to flank thet means u can hit a mine u need to micro all of them + ur troops wille the german player just w8 for u .
3.usf rifel man late game feel under powerd why ? cos late game greens have lmgs + vet 3 rifelman will never win them far range thet means u need to come closer until then you lose 2 or 3 guys from ech rifelman group
when it comes to micro its ezer to play OH cos ur troops are stronger they stand at one place u dont need to do much so u have time to control ur 1 panter properly wille usf \ sovit player need to try hard all game to flank not hit mines contol all army + not durble tanks
avrage player like me cant win vs same avrage player on the germans side [ cos micro is ezer]
sorry for bad english
avrage
Legendary, SeriousLee is right, you totally deserve the balance job. I'm sure they'll overcome your english during your adaptation. |
So True especially factions didnt get homoginizated at all.
That's legit concern.
But I think that a 5th man would be nice. Maybe it could be a german shepherd for 50 MP and 50 muni, "snipes" 1 unit of enemy infatry and supresses the rest. One use only, must rebuy after 30 second cooldown. |
I was playing once as OKW on La Gleise north. The american enemy was harassing my fuel with the Captain, and I went against him using my newly made ober squad, that just received its MG34. As the squad was jumping a fence, the captain approached a cover - I think it was a tank scrap - and a zook round fire just as all the squad was bunched up, finishing crossing the fence. Full wipe.
I didn't lose because of this, because I made a poor fight overall, but morale sure did sink to new lows after that one.
No, I don't have any replay to prove it. |
On Contrary, I often see players blobbing several rifles in early game and be astonishing successful with it.
This.
USF is great now, I don't have much worries with them. It feels the german player must exercise way harder to win versus a similarly leveled USF player. And yes often a blob walks around killing stuff, smoking everything, pushing ever forward. With vet, it gets more and more easy to accomplish that.
I don't think that is all wrong, USF, as I understand, should be a strong, infantry heavy based faction. I think it's the lack of something for the germans that makes it so easy for the american player, though I can't put my finger on what it is. |
Basically I was strawmanning your position as "muh tradition."
Please don't do that.
Nah but as I demonstrated most people won't find it as intuitive or logical as calling it Tier 1 so we should totally call it tier 1.
I'm used to epidemiological data, so "most people" should translate to at least a poll. Right now, "most people" are you.
Also thank you for the prebuilt base thing.
Well, that was quite logical
I'm sure the issue scares away very few players, but, still, we should try to be as intuitive and informative as possible.
I agree, but I disagree on your terms of what is most intuitive and informative. This is just my opinion, without rough data to make any hard judgements. Again, maybe a poll? |
There's literally no good backing for keeping it named tier 0 other than muh tradition / opinions.
Muh traditon? As in cattle? Sorry, I do not understand the reference.
Your backing is entirely on opinion and comparative evidence with different gaming communities. I don't agree that it's more intuitive, the zero tiering is pretty logical, considering that the "first" building that you can build receives the number one, and so on.
I do agree that prebuilt base structures make it a little confusing, though.
I wonder how much this reference can scare away new players - I don't know how many take the effort to go after quality gaming casting |
