It is considered as reinforcing of course. I do the same with Penals (not a fan of Guards, didn't tested them after PTRS buff). I see that we have different understanding of word "reinforcement". I understand it as "getting more soldiers" not "more soldiers on frontline while one or more squads will be running to the base and back instead of actually fighting". But FHQ is doctrinal and immoblie and M5 locked behind T3 which is optional choice and comes quite late unlike 251. You can't deny that in terms of field reinforcing (paying MP to bring back lost models) 251 is the best. Ambulance is very close as it can be placed near closest territory border and provides healing. In: COH2 Gameplay

Anyway, I start enjoying reading your Soviet propaganda. I'll translate Katitof's word to Axis fanboy language: Unlike Sdkfz.251, Battlegroup HQ and Ambulance merge doesn't give you more squad members (aka overall hit points). You just transform one squad member type to another (with exception of shocks because of armor). It isn't exactly REINFORCEMENT at all. In: COH2 Gameplay

Units tend to retreat when they are at 1-2 men at low health. So if a ptrs squad is in the retreat path of say a retreating grenadier squad, its almost comparable to shock troopers. If these changes were to stay, ptrs needs a big nerf vs retreating units, more than standard rifles. And of course fixing how they blow up crew weapons. Just like if cons were retreating at 1-2 men at low health while LMG grens firing at them, right? They don't shoot on the move which means that you got encircled/flanked. If it is so then it is fine that you lose your retreating squad. In: COH2 Balance

Pros: 1) Forces enemy medium armor to pull back if used with spotters at proper range. 2) Unloads tonns of DPS against less mobile heavies. 3) In the same tier as Katys. Cons: 1) Dies to Pz.IV if unsupported, or AT nade failed to penetrate frontal armor. 2) Have 0 AI capabilities so it suffers from handheld AT. 3) Leads to passive/reactive play 4) Comes quite late, so you can't rely on it to counter light vehicles So, it is a good specialist unit that requires support to fulfill its task (combined arms approach) with low shock value (pure AT) and good late game potential (great veterancy bonuses). I think many people simply confused the highly annoying nature of OKW play with its blobs and lack of combined arms with actual strength, and many hyperventilated over the seemingly obscene statline of units like the KT, whereas in 1v1 you would rarely if ever actually have to face one unless you got severely outplayed in the first place. Even in the previous patch, when playing Soviets, OH was usually more of a problem as long as the tech decisions were correct, that is. As for Obers, I'll reserve judgment for now, it remains to be seen how this plays out, but I think they should have received maybe an increase in reinforcement speed in exchange. Looking at their baseline stats, they are now a glorified Gren squad, albeit still profiting from insanely strong vet bonuses. Well at least thats in line with the OKW theme, ie. weak vanilla, disprortionally strong vetted. Schrek/volks nerfed, raketen buffed => closer to combined arms approach KT was rarely used in 1v1 + KT nerfed => better balance in 3v3/4v4 games Obers weaker at vet 0, still execptionally strong at high vet => less brainless useage, rewards unit preservation and playing from faction strengths Great patch for OKW players as it makes playing OKW less boring.
