I think it is a mistake to think a unit must be nerfed if it is spammed to a certain degree. If someone spammed 20 Sturms, cons, Rifles, volks, Mg42's, penals, snipers or guards it doesnt mean they need a nerf, it just means that they have no ability to adapt and should be punished.
A single maxim is balanced, i never build more than 3 and thats during a 30-45 minute match. if anything the maxim is spammed because 1,2 or 3 are simply not enough on they own to show a player how effective they are, which i think should change. Hence the spam.
Same thing with snipers, 3-4 really is a visible indication for the player of MP bleeding.
Maxim balance for me would be making the squad as a whole very very slow in terms of movement speed, and making the firing cone bigger. This would bring it more into line with the MG42, as its long set up time is what stops it from being so easily spammed, abused etc. |
If you could manage to give us some replay's that would be very useful. As for your problems i would say that defensive German play is hard to break yes, but at your level and vs your opponents i would say that picking areas to attack will be key to success, as it is with everyone. Soviets generally can get away with spreading units over a larger area early game, with this in mind if you play a competent Osth player, he will most likely focus his forces and lock an area down.
Dont play into his hands by engaging him where he wants you too, be unpredictable. Also if you can make sure your army has variety and can handle most situations.
Just constantly pressure weak areas, harass, be a pain in the ass, stay active, keep him on the alert constantly. But above all be SMART, dont bleed where you dont need too, dont hit his defenses head on and dont lose units. Of course even the best lose units, but the smaller your loses the better. |
I just used this on kholodny ferma, used stuka to decap the west side cutoff, then used the ability. It didnt even fire a single shell? |
As mentioned by Porygon the Mechanized Asssualt Doctrine works wonders as you can add in close range Ass grens which shred rifles, then coupled with grens and LMG's you can work wonders on any and all rifleman that come at you. The doctrinal STUG is something which is very very useful as it punishes the time between his E8's coming out and you getting the unit, you will have unrivaled Anti infantry power,if you time this unit right you can really push the opponent back. Also make sure you have 2-3 paks, i would advise against any P4's or STUG's from tier 3, E8's are simply too good and will kill them easily. |

I would love to see a penalty for players who blob. Nearly every game vs the USF (in particular) just ends up with 3-5 rifles with BARS sniping my MGs and walking over anything. I would love it if Relic made some sort of aura for squads within a specific distance to each other, maybe meaning they received more suppression and have less accuracy. This would fix the problem easily. Until then all we can hope for is lucky mortars and pray our mg gunners dont get sniped |
I wouldnt really blame the maps. If you think that you can create a strategy that works for every map, then the chances of the opponent abusing weaknesses is high. Also, it seems you are confining yourself to using commanders, dont do this, ive taken on ISU's without elephants before. Your commander complements your strategy, so if you want long range AT damage get an elephant, if not then dont. Part of this game is changing your strategy and being flexible, focusing on this will help alot of players. |
I agree that the OKW AA needs some buffs here and there. But from what you put in the OP it seems it would be little overkill.
-Decrease set up time
-Increase range to be slightly less than USF AA
-Doesn't need more suppression, already pins easily and quickly
Maybe change the damage of the USF 50cal mg, its too effective for a coaxial mounted mg

Its worth noting that many of VonIvan's wins were probably against player who were alot less skilled then him, not taking away from his skill. Auto matching is ok but not great, so its natural you will be matched against a lesser player. |
The Bulldozer sherman is also lackluster
I have no idea how you have been using this, but it is in no way shape or form "lackluster", this tank can wipe half squads of anything at any moment, ive had whole Volks sqauds nuked by this thing constantly. |
