Has anyone experienced a lot of lag lately? I never had a problem with it until very recently, and my internet speed is fine.
The delay is so bad that if I issue a retreat order, it often takes upward of three seconds (I can record live to show, this is not an exaggeration) to register. I can't even dodge grenades, or react at all. If I turn the corner with a tank and see AT, it will die because by the time it registers to back up around the corner there have already been three shots.
Anyone else having this issue? I never had until maybe the past week. |
I'm not sure where all of the complaints are coming from.
Before the patch, I played mainly ost. They required more tactical and strategic planning than their counterparts, but were much more rewarding.
After the patch, I've played mainly USF, and enjoy them as well. Playing both sides, I can honestly say that I feel the game is well balanced because I have experience with both and because:
1) The early game is definitely dominated by usf, and late game the axis. However, any good usf player will be able to build on their early game advantage and have a numerical advantage in armor by the time the axis starts rolling out their better armor. Likewise, any good axis player will be able to hold out early game and take advantage of their late game.
2) The allied forces, imo, are an "all around" strong faction. With my playtime, I consider both the usf and Russians to be a strong "bread and butter" faction. IMO, they are easier to play with(and I've played the majority of my time with ost), but less able to adapt and more rigid, making them less rewarding and the faction which must be "responded" to. The axis, on the other hand, require more of a "reaction", but are extremely rewarding.
Bottom line: I prefer the usf now, but there is still nothing more rewarding than winning as the axis. I have experience in both and consider them well balanced. Axis= reacting, but if you pull it off, you will always win (though it may be more difficult). Allies= proactive but unable to react as well.

I'd like if they just had a "Target Vehicle Only" option for all armoured vehicles. People ask for "Hold Fire" but that will not fix the problem because you still wouldn't be able to kite and attack at the same time, since issuing move-orders would override the attack order, but disabling "Hold Fire" will just let them shoot everything but the thing you want them to shoot.
This would be amazing and so easy to implement. I hope relic sees. This is not an issue of balance or people whining, it's a genuine problem that can be easily fixed with method above. |
It also feels like tank behaviour in general fucked up since WFA. Most time I use Panthers, they do retarded shit and get stuck at everything (including enemy tanks), then start to turn in a circle while traversing the gun to wherever but not the enemy tank.
Your opinions? Can you confirm?
Yes, I can. I can't tell you the amount of times I've had a fast tank that the opponent cant track and I click behind him to flank only to have the tank crash directly into him |
It wouldn't be too bad if it didn't charge when you told it to attack |
Just had a game where I was trying to destroy a king tiger, and obviously wanted to kite it. There was a problem, however: the jackson kept targeting the infantry next to it instead. Slightly annoyed, though not raging, I clicked on the tiger repeatedly to attack it. No big deal.
Except I'm kidding. Because once I did, Mr jackson decided it was in his best interest to put the petal to the metal and charge right up to the king. I believe he may have got a round off before he kissed that smiling grill of the steel beast and was blasted to infinity. I believe I may have smashed my keyboard.
Possibly.

Good advice. I'm starting to think that I spend too much time making sure units come onto the field asap whenever the resources are available rather than focusing on the tactical. Whenever I look at my float at the end of the game, it's always extremely low. Like the unit tab advice, I'll be sure to pay more attention for crosshairs or idleness. |
Again, thanks for the replies. I just have one final question. Was there anything that stuck out that I did terribly wrong or bad that could have really helped me? |
Watched it, not really much to say except "play more and improve your micro" you simply lack experience, which was expected. Dont leave armored cars near guards, don't setup MG42s when you see huge blob right in front of it, try to pay more attention to dying units.
You'd have it if not for micro and squad losses during multiple engagements at once.
Thats pretty much all I can tell you.
On a side note, doctrine choices of both players tell everything about how people see current balance ![:) :)](/images/Smileys/smile.gif)
Thanks for watching ![:) :)](/images/Smileys/smile.gif) . That's all I wanted to know... if more experienced players saw this as a balance issue, or my lack of micro. Still, to a player which has played 50 games (which is a lot if you look outside of these forums), it seemed like the harder work was on the germans, as they had to react and avoid and not just bumrush.... but idk. thanks ![:) :)](/images/Smileys/smile.gif) |
Ummm, early game is the part that is the most balanced currently.
If you can't beat 270mp units and vehicles with 240mp units one on one basis it doesn't mean something is imbalanced, it means its exactly balanced.
You will never be able to understand other faction and how to counter their strats if you never play it.
What you have described is one of the easiest things to counter.
Ok, so what I am asking is what I should have done. My only options were grenadiers or mg. That's it, before he began to overwhelm me. Though I *do* know I don't understand the soviets thoroughly, the game seemed like it happed so fast before I could even counter that it was unbeatable (gren vs mg vs scout car and penal flanking) |
