Thread: Light indirect fire (mostly in team games)11 Dec 2017, 14:56 PM I second this; ISG, Mortar Teams, Pak Howies, Motor carriages (USA), Mortar pits completely annihilate squads within seconds. Especially when there are 2-3 out: 1 shot kills 1 squad member and the next shot gets the rest of squads. Happens all the time. Especially when you play Ostheer. The current state punishes aggressive infantry pushes late game since indirect fire auto attack wipes squads within seconds In: COH2 Balance

Its pretty bunkers when a faction that relies on team weapons (ostheer) has worse team weapons than a faction that relies on strong, capable mainline infantry (USA). Pershing is totally an endgame tank while Tiger was a beefed up Panzer IV really taking a beating from every damage source. Luvnest micro with snipers were superb, and Theos Rifles smoking every darn flank and just pushing like crazy was insane. Very nice game to watch In: Replays
Thread: Punish blobs with received accuracy penalty17 Aug 2016, 19:25 PM Hi guys Game after game in 2v2+ I encounter a big issue in this game; the presence and efficiency of blobbing mainline infantry. Mainline infantry can in many instances walk straight up to MGs, especially the lesser effective supression platforms such as vickers, 50 cal, MG-34 (and also in cases of MG42 and Maxim) and just focus fire the entire platform down within seconds. I find it unreasonable that the very hard counter to blobs gets countered by mainline infantry amassed. Sure you could argue that you should have tanks or artillery to support your MGs, but with zook/PIAT blobs those tanks also gets annihilated within moments. I have a simple suggestion to minimize the blobbing of Rifle/Penals/Infantry Sections/Volks that seem to be plagueing 2v2+; Let squads get a received accuracy penalty when amassed. This was the solution used to minimize Pioneer spam in CoH 1 and should be used in CoH 2 as well with ALL infantry to reduce the usage of brainless tactics such as mainline infantry spam. You are playing very much in a "blobbing style", which again an effective tactic (blob against blob), but I think many people would want a more, let's say, "combine-er" arms. Thread: Ostheer just hard29 Jul 2016, 06:20 AM I have experimented a lot lately with having 2-3 grens with Gewehr 43 or LMG 42 clumped together into a long range killing machine. Fire a couple of salvos and together with a MG42 try to stall assaulting infantry. and if Rifles or Penals get close, retreat. You already bled them during their advance. If you continue that up your opponents bleed will be higher than yours. Then for the next engagement maybe you bring a 222 or panzergrenadiers for flanking. Took a while for me to realize that Grens are supposed to be used in squads of 3-4 to be effective. In: Ostheer Strategies
