Without RNG the best play wins every engagement in a predictable way, whereas an unexpected turn of events can be the catalyst for some really exciting moments (for viewers). Thread: Open Beta Changelog22 Oct 2014, 09:25 AM The Pak changes sound great. Have always needed more incentive to start spending some fuel. Glad it's still an amazing AT gun on a single shot basis too. It just makes positions overall more vulnerable to being outplayed. Do people like the Jagd/ISU change? I sort of got the impression people were primarily moaning about the low skill threshold on the units so maybe it'll do the trick. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Give us a chatbox.14 Oct 2014, 10:46 AM The shoutbox is ok but it really needs a timer. Maybe 1 hour. Every day at the moment I log on and more than half the shouts are from 1 person. As an added bonus only the most incredibly patient people could have an argument on a 1-hour timer. In: Site Feedback
Thread: Best and Worst Voice Acting14 Oct 2014, 03:40 AM Just realised we're defining worst in quite different ways. ie "I don't like the words they say because they're unrealistic and/or repetitive" "The delivery is unconvincing or they have a silly accent" "It annoys me because of the way it is recorded / sound quality" Some that excel in one area tank in another. It also sounds like they are yelling all the time. I think the best voice acting is probably Ostheer (although COH2 isn't going to get any awards for sound). At least the Ostheer sounds are "dignified". Hah this is funny. I voted the opposite of you and when I read your post discovered my reasons are the same - only in reverse. I guess this means it's hard to please everyone. Maybe different areas of the world are a factor even within the same language. In: Lobby

Thread: COH2 Connundrum7 Oct 2014, 04:43 AM Yes having a universal set of values certainly seems more elegant than fudging (balancing) individually using target tables. I guess the ultimate litmus test though is whether everything reaches a satisfactory state of balance. Physics - I still just don't see it. Coh2 adds an impressive sense of weight, but everything does still ragdoll. Coh1 seems to have a linear floatiness on the ragdolls which I guess appeals because it's a bit silly therefore entertaining. In: COH2 Gameplay
