That is not true, WEHR (OST) does not have to build T1 and T2, they can skip 1 or 2.

Skip t1, so only have mg, pio and maybe crappy osttruppen ? Have fun vs vickers without mortar, and without osttruppen u can not push.
Skip t2 = no anti tank, centaur, aec, m5 or t70 will push you back.

Why not build T2 AND T1, or use infantry call ins.

IMO the HMG (no matter axis or allied) shouls be dominant vs infantry that is in firing arc, no matter veterancy and range. HMG is a counter to blobs, so blobs shouldn't be able to kill it face to face.
Then people will only build HMGs, like soviets did long time only builds maxims as mainline infantry. |

Other argument is, that on some terrain, mines are optically nearly not visible. It would be hard to maneuver a tank around them, even if you know there is some, especially with the bad pathfinding of coh2.
Edit: And attacking mines with tanks: Bad idea, when enemy is waiting there for example with tank destroyers, and you have first to shoot mines infront of them with your tanks. |

When Brits in CoH2 were introduced, the british emplacements were decrewable. They had then the same white border like abandoned pak43 for example. But as axis, you couldn't recrew it. I can imagine that Relic had no clue how to fix it and just turned them into buildings. |
Just use minesweeper near vehicle. If you drive far behind the front to try to full unit kill retreating squads, it is your risk and reward.
If the Wehr mine would be like a soviet mine, your t70 with damaged engine would always be catched.
As Wehr player, I would always prefer spammable 30 ammo mines, instead visible AI minefields or 50 ammo tellers. |
