USF faction with most options? More like least, atleast if you actually want to win. They're extremely patternistic, even more than soviets, which is an achievement. Deviate from the pattern even a little and you've pretty much already thrown away your chance at winning against an equal opponent. 4 rifles to LT to light vehicle to Major to Sherman (or M8) spam. Assault Engineers optionally to replace 1 rifleman and you can spam the doctrinal vehicles instead. You can go captain pretty much only if you have Rifle Company.
Soviets are pretty damn shit against OKW except for two cheese strats, one is maxim spam, other is sniper spam. Anything other than these two extremes tends to fail really hard against fusilier blobs or mg34 spam or even jaeger spam. The other two OKW doctrines don't actually exist. Soviets are also fairly impotent against Ostheer later on in the game unless they've got call-in tanks, because their own tech vehicles suck horse nuts compared to PIVs with the blitzkrieg cheese mode activated again. And then Dane wonders why people spam these same things as soviets every game.
OKW is the top dog in 1vs1 ever since the 100% muni change as long as you don't mind playing the same two (or three if you count jaegers, I haven't actually used them) every single game. Base unit wise they have a ton of relatively viable strats compared to other factions, but they do tend to need those hilariously op doctrinal infantry units to truly compete because without them their infantry DPS primarily comes from glass cannon units and suppression from easily killed light vehicles. The only strat from USF that is remotely scary to them is hardcore EZ8 spam, and the only strats from soviets that are scary are sniper (on very open maps with few buildings) or maxim (on maps that aren't that) spam to T34/85 spam or ISUs on an open map.
What are the ostheer 'scary' strats?They don't have one..they have one 'viable build and are hanging on by that. |

Yea... except you are wrong and it could reliably penetrate panther front armor depending on amunition used.
Panthers 110mm against its BR-471B munitions guaranteed a penetrating hit at 60 degree sloped armor up to 1500meters, which is the range where panther had problems penetrating IS-2 frontal armor.
So you might want to rethink who needed to ambush who.
I'd say the in game relations between panthers and IS-2 tanks are rather accurate.

I don't know the name of the commander. He's got the ambush, the riegal mines, lef, that speed boost for infantry, and some other thing.

is-2 also was a tank that if realism be taken into account loses head on vs the panther because its gun can't penetrate panther's frontal armor while panther can.And it lacks speed to flank panther.So short of an ambush it usually lost to panther..but thats not how its portrayed ingame is it?

If your going to make 3 or 4 of something to take out an IS2, panzerIV has to be one of the worst decisions, unless your going to actively get behind it. Otherwise your better off even with stugIII, since they have better penetration (last I checked at least).

I was using ambush camo against the shock spammer where I could. Against anything but shocks it's amazingly good with grenadiers. It's awesome with hmg as well if you can get enough cover to hide all the men. Smoke messes it up with the hmg though. I have not had good luck using it with PG's though.

Worst of all is it makes pz 4s completely useless,even 3-4.Since pz 4 and tiger are only viable armor for wehr its a problem.Pak takes too long to kill and most importantly can only be used defensively.So for pushing if ur opponent has is-2 and u don't have tiger u are done as ostheer at least in team games,unless ur teammates got a KT.Even then is-2 and tiger is equal fight..u don't really have some advantage. |

This point .13 percent less chance of being hit is literally miniscule and rather useless.1 in 10 shots will not hit it.Compare to shocks..1 out of 2 shots absorbed(i know flame pierces it).For 50 mp massive difference- 5 times more.....Plus 6 men and smoke to advance.Panzergrenadiers drop 2 models just to close and use the grenade animation.
This is why i said split the unit into an AI version and an shreck carrier version,will be far easier to balance.
Or at least add a model while keeping DPS same.
At its current state its not worth more than 300 MP. |
