The purpose of the mod is to bring more balance, a breath of fresh air and bug fixes to the game. If you enjoy the current game, that's great for you. But it doesn't mean others do aswell. You can't force people to like something which they don't. I personally prefer playing some games in Elite Mod from time to time. Because it's gameplay is superior even if it differs marginally from vCoh. In: COH Central

Why does it only contain a general unit desription? Why not unit HP, armor, damage, that sort of thing? Hell no son, hell no. One of the biggest issues is that you get thrown too much useless information at your face constantly distracting you from the actual game. Unit stats won't help you at all, they will only confuse players. There are so much variables with weapons and armor... That being said: if there was an information panel OUTSIDE (in main menu) the game, giving unit stats, that would be nice. In: Lobby

You want to promote their strenghts through their gun (wether it be suppression or damage), not having a thousand men on their squad: Units should fill a unique role and purpose which they are good at. And they also should have defining weaknesses: Counterplay to MG: Flank around the arc. But when the squad has 6 guys, it's not very easy to flank. Anyways those are just my theories around gamedesign. And i'm talking about gamedesign purely, not balance. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: So I played CoH2 again...4 Sep 2014, 02:00 AM Thx Inverse for putting my exact feelings perfectly described in your post. The UI makes the game a struggle against yourself. And there for I find no motivation to play this exhausting game. In Coh1 All the information (tac map, resources, doctrine) u needed was on the left, and the actions were on the right. Now you get useless information thrown at your face constantly scattered across the whole screen. Which takes the focus off the 'battlefield'. About the performance: at least I heard them admit their mistakes a couple of times. QD said something along the lines of: That was our biggest disappointment. MAKE US WANT TO ENJOY YOUR GAME RELIC. (make an option for a coh1 like interface?) Balance issues aren't even a big deal if the fundamentals aren't functioning properly. About competitive: I actually wonder if you would show vCoh vs COH2 to a random crowd without pre knowledge of any of the games. If they wouldn't prefer COH1 over COH2. In: Lobby
