Guys, guys, it's 4v4, not 2v2. One guy goes for double KT, 3 support him.
Sounds like you can't win in a 3vs4 situation. That means you get outplayed. |

In 1v1, you can flank. In 2v2+, there are always more MG42 waiting for you.
You would need 6 HMGs on minsk pocket and 5 on Kharkov to cover every flanking route and even then you still can use smoke to blind HMGS and move behind their arc of fire.
You can move from smoke to smoke and throw grenades at every HMG that is repositioning due long setup, if you have no units to screen your HMG its either retreat or risk a wipe. |
From 2v2 and above, USF is screwed due to the MG42 spam/Sniper.
And I do not think that the change that Relic want to add would change anything.

Smoke is really all you need to force a position change of the HMG 42. If you still think that you need to rush an m20 in order to secure an easy win, you fail to adapt. |
He's reffering to 4v4 games, not 1v1/2v2 and in 4v4 you can get second KT before 30min.
When you get massively outplayed, then indeed its possible. |

Honestly I think the KT is a noobtrap and limiting would actually help players to improve their play.
On the other hand no stock unit in game is limited and I don't see the reason why OKW should suffer under this. If relic intended in doing so, they would've started with snipers long ago. |
The King Tiger ability would be good on the Stug too. I'm not joking, anybody know the name?
Spearhead is probably the worst vet ability that was added with WFA. You probably don't even know what it does, otherwise you wouldn't propose it. The Stug has not even a turret so it cant even utilize it. |
After playing a lot of games with the new stug I have to admit TWP is the problem and not the stug itself.
I also think HE shells are a bad idea, due the fact the Stug is now an AT specialist and giving it HE shells in an ISU way, would it make it a generalist unit and you wouldn't have reason to use Ostwinds or P4 - it would lead to spam and less combined arms. In addition its frustrating to have your infantry sniped by tanks in the fog of war.
In my opinion, the ability 'take aim' of the 57mm At gun would fit perfectly on the stug with following effects:
- smaller arc of fire
- slower move speed
- focus sight
- +10 range
The ability should come with a cooldown timer, so you can't instantly switch it on and off. This would provide counterplay via flanking, yet underline its role as AT specialist. |
