I'd rather buff cons or give a useful weapon upgrade to match other infantry increasing their cost. Every unit should have a window of oportunity to gain against other with proper skill and reading correctly the situation.
These conscript meat shield design is super boring to play, you can't rely on your core infantry to win engagements and you need to use elite doc troops or either support units all time. |
I agree with OP. Cons need a rework or either a buff (through tech or fuel cost to balance) in order to make them efficent in late game; i mean, being able to deal DPS by themself not being just a sponge and having to rely on other units to get the job done.
I'd rather remove penals from t1, and replace all doc with ppsh with penals. Make penals like ostruppen for ost or a soft at based squad.
Then make cons as a core line infantry that gets upgrades (ppsh, dp28 dunno) through tech (ai focused only with snare like grens). That's the way it makes sense to me. |
I like the revamp but i still have concerns with:
-Airbone doctrine. Yes, more room for paratroopers but .50cal/at gun drop its now even more useless. This should be replaced with another thing or imo the doc still not worth to pick (despite it costs now only munition).
-Greyhound should come earlier. A posible solution would be something like AEC tech. You need and officer and a research (wich cost fuel) to be able to build it from HQ. This give us more control in timings rather than this ''cp buff with tech''. |
Any Chance Airborne might get some adjustments? This Update makes one the main attractions of the doc negated.

Overwatch indeed needs a serious rework because its still MEH. I'd be very disappointed if after this commander revamp (awesome btw, nice job) we still have this as a never used commander. I think this commander could be fixed turning it into a defensive doc.
Problems with commander are:
-Lefh needs to be replaced with different thing.
-Goliath are still a troll unit not worth it besides a lucky shot (or if you are not vonIvan). I can't barely see a solution between goliaths been UP or OP. So perhaps best idea (as some people said) is make them come with an ability (tellers to sturms).
-For the father land its a bit meh too plus its a munition cost ability to a commander (if changed and according to the suggestions AT Strafe, tellers...) gonna be heavily muni based. Dunno how to aproach the change to be honest buff it or change to a new passive ability.
-Jaeger light infantry its still too weak. I'd lower it to 1CP or require a tech estructure (medic or mech truck) so you can get use of if it earlier.

I like the ST b4 idea, but with a balanced approach. I don't know if im a big fan of high scatter and high damage. I prefer low aoe, low dmg better accuracy and something like stun for squads/vehicles for a short period of time. Red smoke before landing? Just thinking. |
May need a few more iteration to balance, but the addition of kv2 (and stats change) to urban defense doctrine LOOKS AWESOME. |
