Rzev did had human wave tactics but thats more of a problem outdated soviet infantry doctrine even so it costed the soviets dearly with nearly 1:10 casualties. And safe for Bragration their is not a single soviet operation i can respect. it nearly always was a 1:1 ratio. Also victories where only achieved by massive amount of advantages that where partly provided by the western allies. without landlease the soviet union would have collapsed in 1941 as mobility would have been crippled without the tens oof thousands of trucks provided by America.

But the greatest problem of the soviet army is was their inability to learn from their mistakes. Take for example the the t-34 which was one of worst tanks of the war it took the soviets nearly 3 years and 35k of loses to finally put the t-34/85 out.

Such non-sense made my day. The Red Army did not learn from their mistakes of 1941? Zhukov had no Strategic Brilliance? T-34 the worst tank?! Now I've heard everything...

What is the goal here? What do you want? What are you trying to demonstrate/discuss in this thread? It's clear you're upset, but otherwise it's all confused. I guess if I take your thread title seriously you want to know what the point of playing is, but people have told you: to have fun. If you aren't having fun, get off the forums, stop playing, get a new hobby. It's incredible to me how many members of this community get so frustrated with the game and instead of just not playing they bitch and moan and continue to play.

I don't know what is up with the CoH 2 community lately but since WFA launched the amount of crying, whining and trolling has gone up exponentially. They seem to spend more time venting in the forums than playing.

It's a 420 mp unit which will need the pretty crappy T1 Building ...... good counter? It still fucks up your early and as Soviet you don't even need to mircro much ......

For a vetaran of the 1st WW it's still overperforming as hell ....... espacially when you consider that the OKW only has the Mg34 doctrinal against enemy hordes.

Even as the Ostheer I struggle against the maxim spam and they got a Mortar (HT), Sniper, and an early scout car ....

OKW has nothing like that, the Luchs comes to late, Flak HT is shitty against ZiS due to set up time .....

IG18 does not miss that much and when it hits it's a reliable 2-3 models killed, plus maxims are easy target as they are stationary.

Ever heard of the Kubelwagon? It's beastly if properly microed and the maxim does less dmg to it than conscripts.

Ever heard of Fallschirmjagers? Just pop behind the maxims and kill them

Lastly, maxims require more micro than MG34/MG42s or 50.Cal.

The Red Army's actions during the WW2 despite their brutality are understandable.

They did what they had to do against an enemy that just wanted to ideologically and physically wipe them out the face of the earth through a "war of annihilation".

Unlike the western front, soviet populations could not surrender, the nazis/wehrmacht just executed them, burned them inside their villages or starved them to death.

I really don't think the bulk of soviet soldiers or partisans fought because their leaders told them to or due to nationalism like the Germans, the British/commonwealth, the USA and the french or polish free forces. Fighting was the only chance for survival for the soviets, there was no diplomacy in the eastern front.

You reap what you sow. Germans got what they deserved.

I would not be surprised if most of the survivors of the eastern front had some form of PTSD or psychological trauma. What I wonder is what traumatized them more, what they had to do in order to survive (Killing) or what they endured (Having your whole family/village murdered).
