This is assuming the kubel is by itself, but most likely it will be accompanied by stumpioneers, in which case you just exposed your m3 weaker rear armor to them. In about 5 seconds your m3 will be dead. Yes, Kubel and Sturmpios in unison will destroy any single Soviet T1 squad or unit. I realize we are not comparing units in vacuum and you are right there, but if Sturmpios are nosing around to support the Kubel you should really have a Conscript or Penal squad inside the M3, which would absolutely murder the Kubel if they stayed at long range. |
At long range the Kubel has the burst advantage, firing longer bursts. At close range the Kubel fires shorter bursts than the M3, and gets wrecked for it. Didn't notice that, quite interesting.
Also, moving in with m3 and going past the Kubel will result in shooting at the Kubel with the rear gun, and forcing the Kubel to turn and lose its stationary bonus (what is the impact of stationary bonus other than supression?).
Then, if Kubel chooses not to move you can reverse to be in front of it, rinse and repeat. |
There is nothing inherently wrong in a single faction having 5 veterancy levels as a faction bonus. A lot of asymmetry in this game's faction designs.
This would only be a problem if the 5 levels of veterancy were overpowering in late game .
But, the only units that will be consistently vet5 in late game are Volks (and prior to previous patch, Raketenwerfers). This is actually excellent design because this is what allows Volks to scale well into late game, thus justifying them being a bit more sucky than other infantry initially.
More expensive units (tanks) get above vet3 relatively rarely so it is sort of a cool and rare feature. You see a vet4 Panther, you KNOW that monster earned it. |
Please no triple nerfs.
Acceleration could be lowered, fuel cost added, reduce damage as well while you're at it, don't need that, I need it to be a mobile supression platform. Which it currently is.
The problem is, early game I can have one mobile supression platform for every US squad on the field. This could be a fundamental problem (which did not come to the foreground before because the Kubel would do cartwheels around every rock and could not have been positioned properly). |
Truck push is ridiculous, I haven't had it happen to me but I cannot believe it's still in the game.
Just give a 1 minute cooldown before the first sws enters the field at the start of the match. Problem fucking solved. |
Agreed with Arclyte.
Alternatively, buff the PTRS to high heaven (then you'd have to give just 1 to Cons in Tank Hunters or something).
Alternatively, give the option to buy 2 PTRS or 2 DPs separately, like Stormtroopers.
Alternatively, make them dispense free beer to the player at Vet2. That's what would get me to use them every once in a while. |
First of all, I am glad that the button nerf happened, because now we can actually discuss this ability for what it is. It's still good for destroying a destroyed engine'd tank and taking out half a flak base truck's HP but that's about it.
Drop time is too greatly dependent on how close you are to your edge of the map, IMO. No manner of airplane speed up will help this variance. So here's an idea : make it come without smoke.
Give it a cue like the Stuka precision bomb has - a sound, the narrator warning you that an aeroplane is on the map SOMEWHERE or (easier to implement, since no voiceover needs to be recorded) an ingame text message in the left side of the screen like "unit sniped", or maybe light up the sector where it's called in.

As someone who has been using Kubels since alpha, I would not be adverse to a 5 or even 10 fuel cost if I can keep it as it is. I mean it's not as if it will set you back too hard on teching, who ever builds more than one per game anyway? |
I say keep Kubel as it is, stat-wise. It's no fun having a unit that can't do real damage against enemies.
If it turns out too effective for cost - it is a mobile MG, after all - do increase price or delay before suppression buff kicks in after standing still. |
I like that werf is now a verb, totally using that. |
