Sometimes thats why i hate teamgames. I´m often the guy who has to deal with more than 1 opponent because the rest of my team is sitting around and waiting that maybe an enemy is walking in front of their pak/mg whatever.

I'm not saying that massing for an assault is bad. I have just had too many rounds recently were my Oshteer teammates stood back and did nothing whenever an offensive was launched. It would quickly turn into a rout as all the soviets shifted to meet me, yet my teammates would sit in their bunkers because they thought they would be invincible there... A painful byproduct of 4v4 I suppose. |
Disclaimer: This entails your other 3 teammates don't suck, and at least know how to hold their own for the first 5 minutes or so.
Build MG, then Mortar in the beginning. Followed by a 2nd pio. Start capping like normal, but don't get worked up over one flag if the enemy is being persistent. The mortar tends to discourage all out assaults. Start building fuel caches rapidly once your infantry has been built. You should have one or two by the time you hit to go to tier 1. Play it safe with your infantry and do be too brave. The main part of this strategy is being conservative with inf. so you can jump to armor rapidly. When you hit tier 1 build the new building for P.grenz if clown cars a problem, if not you should have enough to go straight to tier 2. At this point it is safe to add a couple of grenadier regiments. Keep building fuel caches... Once you hit tier 2 build an armor korps and start rolling out the PzIVs. The enemy may have an AT gun at this point, but not much more. Play it safe with the Pz and keep focusing on building more. Having 4 pios when it is all said and done is very helpful too since you can rapidly repair your armor. Since there is little that can damage your PzIV's early on they can easily level up, as well as flush out any soviet armor that has been getting stock piled in their base, averting problems down the road. This strategy has worked really well when running Jaeger armor because by the time the enemy has started getting more than one heavy tank, you should have enough for the elefant. |
Mech assault is a nice one to have. Great early game use once you know how to use it. |
+ fucking 1.
If they bunker up, get mortars, panzerwerfers, flank, arty, ...
Camping, you guys mean defending?
This topic.
Defending against an incoming enemy assault is one thing. Just massing mortars and bunkers on a ridge line, instead of attacking the enemy is another. |
The large 4v4 and 3v3 maps seem the most prone to camping now. Until the Soviets build up a horde of tanks and rush the Germans |
Does this still exist ?
That's a problem that I didn't see for a loooong time since Windustry..
It has been a massive issue in 4v4 and 3v3. Not very early in the round, but with the soviet infantry's ability to dominate the Oshteer infy, the russian players will tend to only use infantry for the first ten minutes while they build up at least 3 t34s or Shermans in the base to rush with. Good times....

Do you all find that certain maps induce camping? I find the Oshteer tends to camp more right now due to the massive disadvantages it has against the Soviets, but I've seen plenty of 4v4 and 3v3 games where every one camps a point the entire time. IMO Steppes is probably the worst by far. |
Pgrens and Paks, build up at least 2 PIV in your base to counter with.

IMO
(it would be great if the could make a meta map where the battles fought all day actually added up to overall an war picture, run the whole war every 8 weeks - each map is a part of the battle tally wins from automatch for each side each day and give it to either allies or axis)something bigger might draw in people - heck let the compstompers count too if they play expert ai)
Shogun 2 did something very similar to that for their multiplayer. Each clan was put into a separate tier based on experience. The clans within each tier then competed against each other over the map trying to secure different provinces. After 2 weeks or so, the top 2 or 3 clans in each tier would move up. I thought it was a great system. |
