If we have digital deluxe (from preorder or upgrade) will we get the Western Front when it comes out at zero cost or will it not be included? If this has been answered already, then please point me in that direction.

They are great if you go against some moron that rushes conscripts right at you as you're capping a flag. They Ass. Grens will eat them alive. They have no armor and tend to die quickly when pinned by MGs or going against shocks. However, if you play aggressive early with them they can easily put the round in your favor. Their sprint makes them great for charging an Mg that is pinning down other units or for rushing team weapons that haven't set up. In late game they are great for hit and fade tactics.
They only downside I find is that because they die easily you can get caught up replinshing them so often you don't have resources to Tier up. And they seem to rather expensive to replinsh. |
And this has all changed now... |
The elefant looks like it will be an absolute killing machine now, and it was already terrifying enough to begin with. |
How do those of you who do 4v4 do for opening build order? I've always done Gren, Mg, Gren, Mortar, T2 or Mg, Gren, Mg, Mortar T2. I tried ass. grens for a bit,but they seemed like a glass cannon that cost too much in the beginning. |
I did a 4v4 tonight where I did Jaeger Armor and my ally who went with me did Ostruppen. It is good for getting to points fast and hunkering down to beat the first couple of waves. It worked really well. He was able to cover early with a mediocre at best amount of support from me. Then I got an Elefant and a Rocket Truck in to clear the flank of any and all entrenched infantry/armor. It worked incredibly well. |
I played 3 rounds tonight against 3 different sets of opponents, and every single time I ran into a soviet team weapon spam. And I don't mean a pair of Maxims and a mortar, I mean at one point I counted 6 mortar crews and 3 field guns all owned by the same player at one location on the map. These globs usually had a couple of Cons backing them up to take whatever poor flag they were clearing out. The good news was that this instance was during the third round and I had finally managed to counter the spam with an elefant + spotting scope picking them off from across the map. But, the previous 2 rounds my team got absolutely demolished by the tactic. I only managed to beat them by playing super aggressive early, and sending suicide half tracks with Flame Pios right into the thick of their positions to scatter them early. Otherwise, literally nothing we did early game could touch them. Anyone else running into this problem when going against the Commies and found a way to beat it?
The only tactic I can find to minimize their impact -emphasis on minimize, not eliminate- is to try and harass the mortar crews as they are leaving the base with a forlorn pio or Gren unit. I'd prefer to stop writing of so many units as a delaying force in the early game. |
I find (however annoying it maybe) it is worth while to turn it at an angle and make sure it doesn't have long sight enabled. Face it towards a close building if possible. Just don't turn it around. The last thing you want is for some lucky Field Gun to roll up behind it if it is turned 180. |
