Hi, I'm new to the game (I have 200 hours) mainly I used wehrmacht, but I realized that it is not as good as infantry and especially in 1vs1 it is really poor. I wonder if it's because I'm noob or actually the wehrmacht is poor?
I also wonder why in 1vs1 tournaments I almost never see the werhmacht.
wehrmacht 1vs1 is poor?

The wehrmacht has a few select doctrines that make it work. German infantry doc with 5 man grens, lightning war with g43 call in tiger works, ostruppen with t2 rush double 222, and mechanized assault grens work too. In terms of tournaments OKW is the safer choice because of how good cmd panther doc is. After the patch Ost might be better

I wonder what a top player's opinion on skipping T1, going 2-3 hmgs 1st, followed by Pgrens and rushing for Ostwind. Can it work in high rank?

Only with good teller mines or fast pgren shreks into tellers.

No Americans are a risky faction. I would say Brits are superior in 1v1, but OKW is also superior as well if played right.

New players won't be able to wield Ost units to their greatest effect though. Start with OKW or USF. These two factions rely on spamming mainline infantry and are less punishing.
The reason Ost is very good is primarily due to its flexibility (and unpredictability) of build orders which was drastically improved over the last 2 patches. Again, build order flexibility is something a beginner wouldn't be experienced enough to exploit to his advantage.

Imo wehr is ok good in 1v1. Poor in team games because their unit late game scaling is not good for their costs.
I think pio repair buff and grens dr buff, could change things for a bit better now.
