Suggestion: Troops sitting on tanks

Just a suggestion: Might be hard to implement...

Wouldn't it be cool if troops could sit on tanks for mobility, but are vulnerable to attacks (increased received accuracy). For example, if your army had to retreat back to base, on larger maps tanks could carry some troops back to the front.

That would be cool (and maybe realistic) to see during gameplay.

And shocktroopers/assault squads, can ride tanks without any penalty so they can be dropped/positioned close to combat.

Intresting, but seeing how there are already units that carry troops I think this is not really needed (still cool looking though).

Specialised units, yes.

But tanks are more abundant in the games than carriers, so there would be a point in it.

Perhaps give the carrying tank a minor speed penalty and no firing if loaded.

That's supposing the game can support such a role for the tanks at all?

This is the kind of change that I think would be so awesome, but since it requires new animations, new buttons, new lots of things, will probably never happen =\

I agree it would be nice to see. Units riding on tank should be subject to any damage dished out when the vehicle rolls over a mine, should take damage from any shreck shot (as well as tank being damaged) if the tank fires while they are sat on it they should automatically disembark but with some sort of penalty (a-la crew shock crit). Would probably take too much work but would be fun too see

Cant remember seeing any troops sitting on tanks in CoH2 campaign, but in CoH1 I do think there were troops sitting on tanks. As far as animations go, it doesnt have to be all that detailed. Look at troops entering buildings or getting into a HT, not really detailed, so if there are animations of troops ON tanks already, it might be doable. However, still dont see the need for complexity like tank not firing, lower speed etc. The role is filled with other units as of now.

hahaha if this was implemented I would just put my men on the tank and drift around on the ice all day long trying to fling them off. Epic car chase scene :D
