That mg was suppressed not pinned... and no the mg42 is still the best machinegun ingame due to
1. Lower cost
2. Higher arc
3. Api rounds
4. Lack of a death loop

Stop shoving your ideas of axis entitlement...

Could you go into detail? Ive always witnessed strange behaviour regarding supressed or pinned MGs. Sometimes they fire back, sometimes they do nothing at all.

They will always fire back when suppressed or even pinned, it'll just take a very long time between bursts/reload, but HMGs will always fire, pinned or not.

They can reposition just as any other HMG when suppressed, but can't when pinned and will deploy automatically.

True dat, but seeing how casually the 50Cal resetup under suppression, kinda have the same experience against allies MG. Fast tearup/setup more than negate the slightly wider arc of MG42.

Have you ever lost an mg42 and have it used against you? That is a true pain in the ass. Ever lost a 50 cal and have it used against you? Yeah no big deal to be honest.

???
Being able to pack up and sometimes reposition is makes up for not having the need?

One of the greatest pleasures is fighting against someone who thinks a captured maxim can be used like an MG42. Can literally just split up and flank it with ease.

Then they try the same thing against a captured MG42 and they just get shut down. Had one guy rage at me because I used an MG42 against him after he had been spamming them all game. he was trying to go MG42's into Pzgrens but two captured MG42's put an end to that very quickly.

Another mrgame2 special. The simple fact that MG42 has no death loops makes it a better MG than the others. Not even to speak of the almost 180 degree arc, rate of fire, vet, suppression ability.

Sometimes I wonder where these myths come from. MG42 gets the same death loop as every other MG. Ever deployed an MG42 by accident in front of a Tommy squad?

The death loop that they are referring to occurs while retreating, not while packing up to retreat.

While retreating if the model carrying the gun dies, the Maxim and 50 cal will have to pick it up again where as the MG34/42/Vikkers the gun teleports to the next model.

Not that that really matters since the ability to make a gun retreat that is able to packup and redeploy to counter a flanking unit is easier said than done.

Fair enough, thanks for clarification. I retract my point.

Off topic but I wish Ost players in team games would stop doing this. Even with 3 grens I couldn't make up the infantry deficiency. It seems to happen every game, I love OKW teammates and hate Ost players.

supression is not a magic spell, if you want that go play warcraft 3.

all it does is makes units fire/move slower and have some acc/rec acc modifiers. they still can do everything else while supressed.

50Cal is great in my opinon.

It is simply hard to compare decently enough between the 2 since it is not common at all to encounter USF 50 cals.

Due to the popularity of the other base which provides better options which excludes the MG.

To be honest, I believe both MG42 and 50cal are on par. Tough I believe 50cal in somewhat superior in terms of both damage and suppression. Especially those AP rounds.

The traverse is trash on the 42 which neglects its large arc. I'd rather,
-decrease the arc
-increase traverse speed
-decrease setup time
-add death loop
then see it as is.

I think supppression reset faust, rifle nades and hand grenades. I think 50cal and maxim resetup times are so fast, immune to suppression

That said, the 50cal seems to resetup like normal without slowing down
