Why on planet Earth would they set mines blown up to count as deaths? If you're a heavy mine user, or just plain normal, your post match kd will be screwed by this nonsense.

He is talking about s mines. If you have your enemy run into 2-3 s-mine fields you will indeed have a weird KD especially after short games. But then again who cares about these things in COH2?
Same with USF tanks btw. One lost USF vehicle counts as 5 deaths as far as I know. (unless it was Pershing or Priest obviously)

It's senseless. Why not make it count as a death every time a sandbag gets rekt?

I agree, It would make sense to count this.
I would add, the postgame statistics in general are horribly implemented and should get a total rework to show kills per unit, ACTUAL damage done(since the numbers presented are wildly inaccurate). Model losses per unit ect.
Unfortunately there is only 1 relic employee working on Coh2, and most people do not know if he is even a programmer so I do not think that this would be fixed since it is far beyond simple modding.
