Rapid Conscription

Does anybody know any good replays demonstrating its use? I don't ever use it. It's so expensive, and I don't really understand this 'lose to win' logic. Do I need to lose a whole squad and consequently, its veterancy, to get a unit back - or just 6 models?

So 6 lost models = 1 free squad. How about 12 lost models?

SturmTigers arenot good in math.
12 model / 6 model = 2 squad

I haven`t encountered anyone using it, nor did I use it myself.. =( To me its just useless. Would be much better if medics would run around picking wounded dudes to give you squads.

MVGame That math is so obvious. However, I was asking if you only get one squad or you keep getting squads for the duration of rapid conscription at a rate of 1 squad per 6 lost models.

There is a limit depending on the ability. I believe that Rapid Conscription is maxed at 3 squads.

It's capped at 2. Relief infantry is capped at 3 squads.

if you lose 6 man, no matter what kind, you'll get 1 free conscript squad, it's possible to get max 2 squads i think, after 2 squads this ability is recharging. Before some kind of patch it was giving 5 penal battalions and for germans 6 ostruppen squad max

I'm pretty sure friendly fire kills don't count, by the way. I know they don't count for Ostheer equivalent.

The ability is still quite bugged in my experience. For me it often fails to give conscript squads even after taking over 10 model losses.

I would like to see rapid conscription (the soviet and german versions) turned into passive skills but nerfed. Say 12 model losses you gain one squad or whatever number deemed appropriate. As it stands right now it is extremely lackluster.

I disagree, having it passive is simply a none skill manpower buff. Which is exactly what they wanted to escape with the medic stations of coh1.

Conceptually, they were really awesome and one of really cool bits of coh1. But gameplay wise, they were a little out of place (zombies).

The concept of this ability works better in this game, because it takes a bit of skill to set up a large flanking attack, and activate it so that you gain for your dangerous assault.

You either push them off the field, for little cost (replaced units), or your attack fails, but you get a fast second wave to complete it.

Thats the idea anyway.

It seems that the bug with this ability has been fixed with the latest patch! I've been using it and it now consistently gives a full squad for every six casualties you suffer.

Do all squads count towards the casualties, or do you need to lose 6 Conscript models specifically? I tried using this with the Reserve Army doctrine but it never really worked out for me.

It works on conscripts, snipers, penal troops, mortar/Zis/maxim crews and engineers, I'm not 100% sure but I believe it also works on stolen weapon crews. The only unit that it does not work with are the Irregulars in the Soviet Reserve army doctrine.

As has been stated before 160 muni is to much. 120 would be better making it a more useful ability. The CScommander becomes to muniheavy at this cost. Lets hope Relic looks in to some of the abilitys that are a bit broken.

Was it Barton who used to use the demo charge to take out half a dozen Conscript squads near his HQ and get a load of free Penal troops?

I remember those replays. :D

I don't like them because their nature, you have to predict when you will sustain casualties, or you will waste a shitload of munitions for absolutely nothing. I'd prefer it if it were more the other way around, where you could pay to replace losses in the last 60 seconds with Fresh Conscripts* or Osttruppen. I'm sure the 'pro' players would disagree though.

*Fresh Conscripts are weaker than normal Conscripts, they're seen in the campaign.
