From what I've heard from sources, it will include a nerf to indsutry through removal of insta-builds, nerf to the dshk (less suppression), nerf to maxim (increased set up time so its not a pinwheel), buff to mg42(10% suppression increase), reduced cost of zis and pak40 to 320 mp, and 5 new ocmmanders. This is a very small amount. I'm hearing that it will be a very large patch.
It's the manner in which it does it though. The duration that you are in the molotov you get damaged which makes sense and I'm not arguing. I'm arguing that the explosion effect forcing your units to sit there for 5-10 seconds taking damage is a bit ridiculous. Rifle nades, or any of the other grenades do that. Even stun grenades allow you to retreat.
Btw, it's not slacking if you are microing an entire army. Get off your high horse.
I'm not arguing about it being overpowered, but I'm just starting that just because you aren't babysitting your troops every second, you shouldn't be punished. If I see them throwing the molotov before they throw it, and I start moving my troops, I think it is a bit ridiculous that they will still often deal a good 5-10 seconds of damage at times, often forcing a retreat. Molotovs are great against garrisons and units that people aren't paying attention to. So, stop making this about realism because this isn't MOW. Its CoH2. We're talking about gameplay mechanics, not realism or the power of it.
So, molotovs have an explosion effect on them. So, when you use a molotov on a gren for example, they will jump around and sit in the fire for several seconds while you are unable to issue commands. I think that the explosion needs to be removed so this doesn't happen. It would still deal the same damage, but be more rewarding of attentive players.
If you bring out the randomness and such of it, then you remove the possibility of a real match. CoH is not a "you do or don't do this you win" like starcraft. It requires strategy. As such is the nature of motars and artillery, of course they are going to be somewhat random. They aren't sniper weapons. There are a lot of different variables that come into play when a projectile is in flight. I think your proposals are unreasonable if the game is to retain it's charm.
