OKW MG-34 Buff (But not the way you think)

Finally, you look in horror as a Penal/Shock combo calmly walks up to your MG, touches it with their pinky toe, and your MG team explodes in spectacular fashion.
What I suggest instead of permanently buffing suppression or damage, I suggest a Vet 0 perk that will *temporarily* increase the rate of fire to similar characteristics of an MG-42. It will share the same cooldown as AP rounds. This will allow OKW players with good micromanaging to Snare Conscripts/Shocks/Penals, and let Strumpioneers and Volk STG-44's to close in and cause either unit damage, or force a retreat.
This is somewhat based in reality as early MG-34's had a built in clockwork adjuster to increase rate of fire.
What do you guys think?

I made this when I was trying to get my head around the MGs. The stats are mostly taken from the DPS chart and looking at stats in the attrib editor.
I didn't include some important stats like burst DPS, AoE suppression, or vs cover bonuses.
So basically-
-The MG34 is like 95% as good as the MG42
-DShK would be best MG if not for its tiny cone of fire
-Maxim close range performance does not improve past 10m like the other MGs (visible on DPS chart, not my spreadsheet), so it's more vulnerable to frontal attacks.
And I think-
-The M2's damage and RoF mean it's very inconsistent. The damage and suppression per shot could be halved and the effective RoF doubled, like the DShK
-I recommend increasing the short-range performance of bad machine guns would make them harder to push from the front, without making them as able to lock down a wide area like the MG42/34.

The only thing I could ask for sure in the hmg-34 thread is a little bit more durable crew.
Why?
Its as durable as any other HMG crew in game but soviets, but maxim is pile of steaming shit anyway.

OKW has a lot of problems, and the MG34 is in fact one of them, but I think tackling a lone unit would probably not be healthy for faction balance overall. OKW is currently the powerhouse of axis since OST is.... sad to say the least, but buffing something currently for OKW without major faction power changes on other units is probably a no go.
I suppose you think units like the Raketenwerfer and the KT also need buffs, since they are seen as borderline meme units, I wonder what would you do in order to fix OKW.

I would call 95% "basically the same". The fire rate is slower, but it does more suppression per shot. The main difference is the damage, which isn't very good.

Damage MGs like the Vickers don't do their job. The Vickers is good at killing models, but that's not what you want an MG for. It's like having a ZiS Gun for indirect.
