Some of you may have noticed red cover appearing around some territory points since the last patch. It's not a map bug, it's a bug relating to the OKW Overwatch early warning flares ability. This is repeatable, and works on every map 100% of the time. Try to avoid capping points on the actual flag even more I suppose if you don't want to get wiped.
Boy I sure love playing against Overwatch doctrine every game.

Does the area around the flag have to be no cover? Are there any issues with yellow or green cover not functioning properly around the point due to this?

Those usually overwrite red cover so they should work if you stand actually in the yellow/green cover.
I imagine it is somewhat buggy with the common sandbags people put around capture points, if you get flanked you might be technically in red cover. The red cover doesn't extend that far from the circle so usually only a few models are inside it and you wouldn't even know. If the sandbag gets destroyed you will have the entire squad clumped in red cover.

May be leftover from experiments with the flares by Relic or the patch team.

Yeah can we please have this? It's low-key OP that the traps auto-arm themselves on every single point you capture. Especially now that it's 1/3 of a Commander ability.
Somehow rifleman flares are worth a full slot, but maphacks, free trip flares, and mobile demo charges aren't good enough and can be merged together... Okay

Wow so these flares do not only cause the "We've lost a man!" voiceline which makes them even more irritating but now also that.
