I think the biggest reason JLI is OP is because of the superiority of spec of 75% critical hit and squad memeber individuals.
First, let's start with the superiority of spec.Since JLI is handled elite infantry by default, it has a target size of 0.8. This is a pretty good figure compared to 0.91 grenadiers.If you achieve 2vet, the target size is reduced to 2968% and the target size is reduced to 0.568. If you achieve 5vet, there will be an additional 20% reduction in the target size to 0.4544.This target size is a spec far beyond 0.497 of 5vet obersoldaten.Even if it is not 5v, the target size 0.568 at 2v is very high for long-range combat specialists, even though 2vet is very easy to achieve when considering Jli's appearance time. (Consider that the 3vet air-landing officer has a target size of 0.5544.)In general, all CQC expert units in CoH2 receive a superior target size bonus over long-range combat specialists to ease distance. But JLI's huge target size bonus makes it more than average in CQC.
Second, it is a matter of 75% Critical hit ability.
Except for very special cases like sniper, most infantry units in CoH2 have 80 health points. And here, 75% means dropping enemies below 60 health points. JLI's G43 sniper rifle has a 115% far accuracy. In other words, even considering the Heavy Cover penalty of 0.9, it can be said that there is virtually no deviation as it strikes with a probability of 1.15 * 0.9 = 1.035, 103.5%.
The problem is that the health points below 60 are really easy to create. Just hit two Kar98k (including Kar98k from Volksgrenadiers) or four StG44s.
Also, because of Baseline Infantry's role, they rarely maintain over 60 health at all times.
This 75% figure is even more noticeable compared to 40% of Pathfinders. Pathfinders is armed with squad member M1 Carbine. Pathfinders is ironically a medium range-specific weapon, so it's not good with Pathfinders' marksmen. (consider the case of ppsh conscript)
In other words, Pathfinders have the ability to cut their opponent's health point to a point where they can shoot with their own squad's firepower is significantly lower than JLI.
If the JLI upgrades the G43, weapon slots are available, and if the LMG is picked up, it becomes a perfect complement to obersoldaten.
This is truly a total impasse. There is nothing short of utility to specification. Only an anti-tank snare skill is not infantry with everything.

as soon i see a blob jli comming to my maxim.. i hit retreat and more often then not they kill it anyway and leave an mg in the field for them to take... no the unit is just fine

nope... they get a 70% crit sniper rifle and slaughter penals at all ranges above 10...
imo the main issue here is that 70% crit sniper rifle... its too good for a 45 muni 250mp squad... nerfing it to pathfinder standards (40% crit) would fix JLI by bringing them inline with I&R paths
Yeah but the i&R pathfinders crit is for free. Instead the sniper for the jaeger infantry costs something more in munitions so theres a cost, opportunity thing there.
