No they where not.

They where very expensive, they couldn't get vet and their basic use was to spawn near a sniper and try to kill them.

The main issue with weapons that critical kill is when they are available in units that can be spammed.

My suggestion would be to either increase the CP of these units or greatly increase the CD of the ability so that one can use up to 1-2 of these units in his army composition.


they did... they had better crit than pathfinders then and had a multitude of abilities in contrast to the beacon for pathfinders...even before the buff ive seen some people use jagers as DMR recon squads like the pathfinders but better...

and your suggested nerf still doesnt fix its ridiculously cheap price... 280 + reduction to 60% crit or nerf it to 340mp

December Commander Revamp made pathfinder superior to pre-patch JRL.

JRL when not really used much and did need some changes.

On the other hand 340 manpower units should simply not be available at the CP 1 time frame, neither should weapons with critical kill chance, be spam-able.

ive given reasons as to why JLI should be worth 340 with their current performance.. you havent debunked or even contested that argument appropriately other than saying that they werent used that much... they were still used as they had a role to fill as an infiltrating boobytrapping recon squad with a 70 crit sniper rifle pre patch...worth 300-280 before buffs... now theyre basically the same.... but + 50% accuracy for the 1st 4 seconds and + 0.4 recieved accuracy vs garrissoned and covered targets... which brings the performance well into the range of 340mp...

First of all, making it 6CP would mark the records of COH2 as the squad that arrives later than OBERS. Second, almost half of the threads here are yours. Third, OKW actually gets a non Volks spam build for once. And fourth, good for you, now yiu cant brainless stomp Volks with Penals now.

As for actually fixing the spammability, just giving a 2 min CD would be enough. The unit is fine. The problem is they get critical blob mass too fast. Also maaaaayyyybbbbeee a price increase to 280MP.

6cp is a Ludacris suggestion. If you want to be taken seriously you need to make reasonable suggestions.

Now to completely ignore that advice....
What if we hard capped call in infantry at 2 squads? The core units should be the core... Units.... Not replaced per say. A this would allow them to remain unique and high impact without making them possibly overbearing and throw balance out via over saturation with things like guards spam. It worked for unique heavies and I think it would make doctrines feel more unique if they augment the core Amy instead of attempt to replace it.

JLI was in a good spot with 300 mp, it was good, no one think maybe , that jaegers only problem was non meta ostwind doctrine? This problem now is solved with the goliath commander, no need lowering cost.

6cp is obviously way too much. I think that the only change really needed would be to increase their cost. Spamming them is a no brained right now because they’re so cheap, and when compared to pathfinders they’re cheaper and have better performance overall, which makes absolutely no sense. That and mayyyybe either increasing to 2cp or bringing their crit down a bit, maybe to like 55-60% as opposed to current 70% (compared to pathfinders’ 40%).

mmkay 6cp seems a bit too harsh... but having really expensive squads and strong coming out at 1cp is a nono aswell... how about 2cp like guards and shocks?

second is irrelevant...
third OKW already has obers for its lategame
fourth penals stomping volks is reversed when obers come out at the lategame soo balanced...sov vehicles kinda compensate ish for this... but jagers brainlessly stomp penals the entire game... #itsbalancedifiwin

I would suggest make JLI’s price same as Pathfinder, and increase G43 upgrade price. Because without G43 upgrade, JLI have same combat efficiency as Pathfinder.

Then do it storm style and make the JLI G43 free because with the G43 they perform more like obersoldaten w/o the mg34 than pathfinders

You've given one reason and it was that you 'felt' they perform as good as Obers, which I've already proven with a proper test is not true. They are at about 80% Obers performance and that is not counting bundled grenades nor the STG44 upgrade. That's worth 280MP, 300 max.


Also your suggestions prove you have no idea what you are talking about, as they were previously already at 2CP and nobody used them because they served no purpose at that timing. They were specifically moved to 1CP so they could replace the standard 4th Volks in opening build.

You compared LMG obers to JLI..im comparing JLI with G43s as equivalents to obers without weapon upgrades hence why i stated make it 340 but make the G43 free like stormtrooper mp40s.. i shall do objective testing with a sample size of 5 when i get back...

Also as i previously mentioned but you seem to disregard... JLI have their own set of utility abilities aswell even BETTER than a simple grenade ability...

Nobody used them cause they were in the worst okw commander, now they are on a good commander too, so 300 is fine. Everyone would call 300 cp jaegers if you place them in a good doctrine.

The unit was UP and that is why it was buffed. Was it over buffed yes it was, but comparing it with it old UP or with Obers is simply wrong.

snipers are 360mp 1 man squads with 1 ability and arent useless... jagers are 4 man sniper teams with 4 abilities...

i just tested it... the new jagers + G43 beat obers without MG34s while only losing one man... your argument is redundant

340 + free G43 upgrade is not only logical but necessary

@addvaluejack please make a video of this with these parameters
engagement at 2 conscript sandbags length obersoldaten and jager both fighting behind cover give jager a G43 and let obers stay stock... you will find that the engagement vs obers will be lopsided in favour of the jagers


likewise ive also put penals vs obers and IS vs obers in the exact same situation... obers won in all cases yet somehow this ridiculous 250mp + 45 muni squad beats 340mp worth of firepower.... this is just stupid beyond belief...

tldr make the G43 free then nerf to 340 mp
