In this patch 3 new vehicles get received damage modifiers:
KV-2
Kv-8
Dozer
following the change to the KV-1. The change to KV-1 was justified as following:

Since KV-2 and KV-8 are available in industry who is actually specialized in fast repair there is little need for such modifier. If the the unit need more HP simply increase the HP and do not add a passive modifier.

Or at least consider that this modifier become available as a timed vet 1 ability.

In the case of the Dozer again USF have fast repair since crew did not received a nerf to repair speed. Again if there is need for more durability add HP and not a modifier.

This is only at vet 3 for the kv2, not really much different from a health bonus

Soviet industry has access to both KV-2 and KV-8 and both units have damage reduction. In addition it has access to "Vehicle Crew Repair Training" and "Repair stations" (that have not received a nerf in their repair speed as engineer have). That allows these unit to return to the field allot faster than other units.

In the end of the day if there not "really much difference", there little reason for damage reduction especially for units with such high armor values both frontal and rear, as the KV-2 has instead of HP.

The units are in more doctrines then soviet industry.

That's like whining and demanding nerf to tiger, because in one doctrine it can use smoke.

Repair stations received a massive nerf in huge cost increase in the past.

I don't like the idea either. KV-1 needed this because it would otherwise have been a lackluster unit. KV-2 and KV-8 might need extra HP but they shouldn't get the damage reduction, because they have much better offensive power. Repair times should be a somewhat balancing factor for heavy tanks.

Especially because the Soviets already have an abundance of doctrinal repair abilities.
