Countering elephant

Tell me how to counter this damn elephant? I can't find any clever strategy for it and the game is always lost when this damn zoo escapee comes and blast everything I have and the other units will come and kill the survivors.......

Arty + engine damage is you best bet.
I play mostly 1v1 and my post are with 1v1 in mind.

In 2v2: Button and bomb strike if he has the stock elephant doctrine.

build lots of conscripts and make them kneel and pray.
now seriously.
build more infantry. drop on the tanks and save your fuel. get at guns. and arty. those are things the elephant cant destroy easily. when you get rid of it with infantry and at guns, arty etc.
used the saved fuel to get tanks.
also with doctrinal IS2 + smoke you can go for a frontal assault.

The only way i've found is to just overwhelm it's support and isolate it. You need to make sure it's alone or somehow take out or ward it's support off, and flank it with maybe some rear AT grenades or a ram

Yep, without help it's toast, a circling T34 can kill it easily.

I had a game my elefant got owned by a combat engineer and a guard, it was pretty dumb of me misclick and moved elefant too forward and it got button by guards then a combat engineer plant demo charge on it and blow it up, can't remember it is full hp or half health, but it was dead...

what.... planted a charge directly on a tank? Never knew this was possible.
