I think the number of female t34 tank drivers is probably exaggerated in CoH2 but I prefer the female voice for the t34, it reminds me of a slightly odd sounding version of my GPS. So I guess it makes sense for a vehicle? I don't know.

Not a supporter of feminism by any means, outside of probably first wave but none the less, I like the t34's female voice.

One of the more famous female tank drivers was Mariya Oktyabrskaya who was so badass that her life sounds like a movie, her husband was killed by the Nazis and rather than weeping she bought a tank with her own savings which she then turned onto the Germans:

Much like any minority serving in a war soviet women were forgotten afterwards even though made a impact on the war, for example during the rush towards Stalingard the German 16th Panzer Division, despite having some of the best tanks in the war at the time, were stalled by some young Russians girls manning AA guns:

As for the west, had women not taken roles in very dangerous munitions factories then no one would have had anything to shoot with and the only nation that did not use women to the fullest were the Nazis until the towards the end of the war...

That's it, I'm now going to respond to every email or ad involving russian/ukraine girls!! I wonder how many are willing to change their name to Mariya?

The Germans had much more, uh, backwards views on whats a "men's job" and whats a "women's"
so, as desperate as they were, they never deployed women, at least not in the numbers as the Soviets.

FWIW, the wehrmacht had some 500k women auxiliaries in 1945. About half of these were volunteers. Thexy did the jobs you already listed.

At the beginning of the war Hitler stated

We possess a generation of healthy men - and we, National Socialists, are going to watch - Germany will not form any section of women grenade throwers or any corps of women elite snipers.

but that stance was somewhat softened over the course of the war, allowing women to fill the named auxiliary positions.

Yeah, NS ideology had a clear idea of where men and women belong.

Dear comrades, this is right theme, but there is nothing to discuss so long. The womens - tankists in soviet army is "bullshit" (if I right use slang). And who do not agree, just belive me, because I am russian.
About developer's knowledge of our history eloquently said 23,000 petition signatures to the publisher to stop sales of the game in the CIS. So, dear developers do not disgrace yourself, and replace the female voice of tankists on male. (Despite the fact that girl's voise, sounds so nice, at least in russian localization).

I don't understand why people are making such a big deal out of this. As people have posted before, there have been female Soviet tank drivers during WW2. Did they make up half of the tankists? No, but I don't think Relic is implying that either.

There were 80 or so Ostwinds produced IRL and yet they are a staple unit in CoH2. What's wrong with half of the T34s having a female voice? I don't get it.
