T-34-85mm Call In Tanks
Posts: 139
T-34-85: 720 MP 260 Fuel for 2 Main gun damage 160 Penetration 110 Reload 8.7s
T-34-76: 560 MP 170 Fuel for 2 Main gun damage 120 Penetration 80 Reload 5s
It's mainly the reload time differences that drops the dps of the 85mm to not being any better than the 76mm unless vs. heavier armour. I'm not sure if the MP and fuel cost differences are worth it though.

a doctrinal, expensive than a PZIV ( and even more expensive because a double-call-in), loss to a PZIV in a head on battle....
hell, I'd like to see a single call-in but requires T3 or T4 structure,
*armor buffed from 120 to 160 same as PZIV,
*reload reduced to 6 sec instead of 9 sec....on pare to PZIV,
*rise penetration from 110(same as PZIV) to 130~140 pen......
A T-34/85 never deserve to be like this.....and you pay much more than almost anything in the game, but stands no chance against a cheaper PZIV or Stug?
buff now.......no more talking

The call in with two of them is both inefficient and unrealistic. There's been a single 1v1 game since I started playing where I've been in a position to safely achieve that level of resource float.
Reduce the price by about 55% and make it one tank. Once that's done we can start looking at how to actually balance it in relation to its combat effectiveness.

It isn't bad but the new T-34/76 really is more attractive. One other thing to keep in mind is that it doesn't require any tech and can be combined with Su-85s if you need a better rounded tank to complement or ram (vs. Elefant). But then again 4 CPs is normally a bit after Soviets could get T3 anyways.
It is in a really tough spot to balance well imo. Buffing and changing it may be appropiate but if it is overbuffed it may well cause some disastrous effects.
I hope Relic find a good spot for it when they rebalance heavy and late game tanks. Another tank that may need a little love is the Pz4 command tank but I don't want to derail the thread, just hoping for the next patch

pqumsieh said in his recent cast that double T-34/85 is here to stay because "they should be able to flank". pls all blame pqumsieh.
That doesn't even make sense.

Remember that it also has 800 HP, as opposed to the T-34/76's and Panzer 4's 640 HP. People often forget about that and only look at the gun stats.

it has 120 armor value same as the T-34/76, and panzer faust still do 100% guaranteed engine damage to these tank which needs flanking, encouraging soviet player to flank is a joke made from relic, for there's no side armor implemented and the AT nade nerf vs. PZIV and another heavies in game while faust maintain it's capability to damage T-34 series

110 penetration vs. 80 gives you a 70ish% chance of penetrating a P-IV headon, while a T-34/76 has 50%.

Well, they're two, right? So one can attack directly and one can flank!

Brilliant!
One thing to keep in mind is that with 85s, you don't have to tech to T3, so you save resources + time spent building the thing. Plus it's obviously nice to be able to call the in instantly (even though you do need more fuel).

That doesn't justify them being not cost effective compared to T-34 and Pz IV

tbh T34/85 is way better than 76, before this patch i used to kill P4's in 3 shots, correct me if im wrong but SU-85 has the same gun like T34/85
PZIV has 640 HP pool, the T-34/85 alpha is 160(same as PZIV) and a lot reload time 9sec reload vs. 5.6(something) reload
so, it needs at least 4 shoot to finish PZIV off

Eh, T-34/85s can be called in with an SU-85/T4 tech, the double call-in is still being used by extremely good players (Symbiosis vs. Hans for a more recent example) as a sort of finisher/way of rounding out your army.
110 penetration vs. 80 gives you a 70ish% chance of penetrating a P-IV headon, while a T-34/76 has 50%.
ya, loss to a single PZIV in a head on fight that's what the story ends.....

would be nice if it were non-doctrinal and spammable like Panthers...or if you could call just one with half the price
What would be the point of having T-34/76 and T-34/85 come out of the same building?
Frankly, the way I see it, the call-in is supposed to be a way for T4 Soviets to get turreted tanks without the need of spending 90 fuel to build T3 building. If it were cheaper and/or came one at a time, nobody would ever build T3 and everyone would just go T4 and call-in T34/85 when needed.
Plus, we don't want to make Guards Motor commander any more OP than he already is.
