Double Vickers Start

The Vickers is now 260 mp and gains 20% extra suppression at vet 2. This along with a mortar nerf across the board has made a double Vickers start a more attractive option. However, I see pro players mostly going for section heavy builds and in some cases foregoing mg's entirely (at least in the previous patch). What do you guys think about the viability of this strat?

It's only been a few days. I wouldn't expect the meta to solve itself again that fast. Even the DBP one hadn't finished mutating when SBP hit.

The SBP wouldn't be needed if only they had listened to the god damn community and made the necessary adjustments instead of announcing the SBP about a month ago with no preview or testing and then launching it now.

To be honest, Vickers is just not good MG at vet 0. Very often an enemy squad can walk through the edge of the cone, and not be suppressed. You are much better off with sections, as they give you more mobility early on. If you want suppression, there is always the bren carrier.

The damage of the MG means that you are more than likely to kill than suppress.
