What the hell do you MG34 lovers even want? An MG42 copy- pasta? An incredibly powerfull suppression tool, or an amazing damage- dealer from afar? Does it even need to come earlier, considering OKW already has a powerfull early- game?

I don't understand why people complain about maxim, when Mg34 is the worst mg in the game, and still got praised for it's quality attributes. Really makes me to think.

I not a HMG34 "lover" but what I would like is that HMG-34 squad would not lose any of its DPS. Having another units in the game not worth building does not help the game.

Not a big one, how important is far DPS to a HMG? They suppress and halt advance to force retreats - not provide long-range damage.
DPS is important because A) it means the is more of a downside to getting caught in mg fire and B) low dps means that a squad is perfectly willing to sit under fire while another squad flanks. Vs mgs with high dps the first squad must eventually retreat, freeing up the mg to reposition and attack the other flanking squad. C) soft counter to vehicles with ap rounds, right now mg34 ap rounds do squat to light vehicles. D) gaining vet. When they halved the mg34s damage, the slowed its vet by 50%, meaning it can't get its vet bonuses to deal with vetted allied inf and growing yellow cover

I could understand this asinine statement if we were discusing a buff to the mg42, but we are against a nerf to a shitty unit.
What is so hard to understand?
Being bad at the game isn't something balance patches can fix.

Invissed two posts, it doesn't hurt to be decent.
The internal battery has run dry, the game can now be played. However, clock based events will no longer occur.

Let's completely ignore volks, sturms, light vehicles etc.
Kubel is still great for backcapping and recon.

It's not so much the nerf that i am concerned about(the nerf itself is not the best idea imo), but all of this talk that just... doesn't look at the bigger picture. OKW already has a potent early game, and i'm of the opinion that adding an powerfull suppression tool to that simply is not a good idea.
Does it need nerfs? No.
Does it need buffs? I don't think so.
Does it need to come earlier? Perhaps. I don't know, i'm not an expert, but that is just my cup of tea on it.

As many have already said, HMG34 is one of best suppression tools in whole game (after dushka nerf, all allied HMGs cannot suppress properly compared to Axis ones). Damage isnt needed at all because OKW has best AI tanks, Volks tear appart any infantry, flamenades and 15 munny nuke nades are enough to "convince" suppressed infantry to retreat and Sturmpioneers will burst down any suppressed squad.
If anything, Volks STGs should be removed(changed to 5xmp44 or to 2xG43) and vet5 as well, then maybe hmg34 deserves a buff to its DPS along with price increase to match all other HMGs (260-300 mp)

It does like no damage but it suppresses just fine. That's why people say it's better than the maxim, especially considering that it's supported by stg volks and sturms and kubels instead of conscripts and pm mortars.

It's on the same level of mg42 suppression, costs 230 manpower and is escorted by volks and sturms. It does it job well - it's great suppression tool.
For damage you have other units or incendiary rounds

Again the question one has to ask, is the unit doing to much damage in live? If it is it deserves an nerf, if it does not, the DPS of squad should remain relatively unchanged.
