Hi All,
I had a vCoH game last night and played the mod Easter Front against the CPU, and noticed even though I had English as the default language, the unit responses were all in German.
Is this intended to be the case?
I havent tried the Ruskies yet, I'm going to assume they too speak native rather than English?

For those who don't know, the Easter front was a little-known theater of WWII where the Italian army attempted to invade the Easter Bunny's hideout beneath Mount Hermon. The Italian Army, as was typical for them in that era, got egg on their faces and had to retreat in shame.

It is indeed intended, it was like this while the mod was out before, and not on Steam. And yes, native VO is used for both of its new factions. You'll get the hang of it after a bit, though the aide-de-camp's responses to things still tends to confuse me.

Native sounds is what many players wanted from the original game and its successor. That is why modders include them if they mod whole new factions - becouse both the modders and most mod-users prefer it that way.
In fact the first version of vcoh had native sounds but they removed it in first patch to replace with good but not good enough english with german accent. There was lots of crying about that change and many people still remember that.

The reason why we only included "nativee" sounds for EF is that coh uses ALOT of language sound files, more than 1000 in total (unit answers, units answering through transmission when far away from the player with static, battlefield chatter, screaming etc.). This makes creation of sounds very hard.
Also, sounds have to be recorded professionally or else they'll sound weird.
We have a professional sound maker and voice actor on our team now.It took one month already to just create sounds for a single unit (the soviet major).
So you maybe get an impression on how hard it is.

I appreciate the hard work you have put into that mod Darc and team!
I dont really mind the unit responces; it encourages me to learn more German.
Another question for you: How come the Brits are not available to be played?
Ost/Werh/PE are and so are SU/US but not Brits?
