Ok strafe did need a fix but alls they had to do was double the ammo cost! Now it is totally usless! One of the best things in the game made pointless now :\

Opel i agree nerf it, half the time i dont even use it, strafe did get spammed so 240 ammo would solve this but now for 120 ammo its really shit and useless, even make quads rape it atleast it forces them to spend ammo vrs it to balance it but nerf it into the ground like this? JOKE!
Germans still OP though lol.......

Its fine...i guess... It just pins as it should, i guess Ju87 cannon bullets didnt kill anybody, just have them ducking.

I had someone use it against me in a game last night. I had the advantage through most of the early and mid game and it got to the time where I would typically get pushed off the field and be kept off with the continual spamming of strafe. He used it twice and was able to take back the VPs in the center of Pripyat winter, but it didn't render all of my infantry units entirely useless. I was able to cap back some resources in other areas and eventually re-focus back on the center VPs. I didn't see much more strafe after that, probably in part because the changes to Opel Blitz meant he couldn't afford it anymore.
So he was able to use it to re-take a reasonably sized section of the map for 120 munition...seems reasonable to me.

It's still a good weapon against big infantry blob. That's the main thing you need it for.

For 120 ammo its not really a good weapon at all, better to get 2x mgs or g43s its basically useless now they take little if any losses and the suppression only lasts a little bit.
240 ammo would have cured the spam and kept a valuable ability in the game, Opel Doctrine is basically pointless now :\
Try dealing with storm troopers and su 85 now

Yeah better when strafe killing ZIS guns, hmg, mortars, units in buildings and all units under retreat..... before patch strafe = no infantry for soviets.

I don't think a call-in airstrike was intended to be a cornerstone of a faction's strategy. It was probably supposed to be a luxury that you could use in a pinch if you had the resources, which is what strafe is now.

Off-maps are not meant to be as cost effective as unit upgrades. Any one off ability comes at a premium. Just something I wanted to point out.

I still lost a vet 2 sniper squad to a passing strafe. 120 ammo is still a bit cheap considering how powerful it is, especially when you look at the other aerial support and find it's, in all cases, more expensive, less good and unlocked later.

I think now its good. Dont change with strafe needed now. He is only suppres and little recon skill. NO a total ownage for all infantry.

I think Strafe is in a good position.
If an ability is so good it can be used in all situations without having to think about it, it's overpowered.
Now you have to think about it. Is it worth the cost? Is this the key situation I need it in?
It's a more niche ability now that can be used to give you a very strong edge in battle as long as you're able to time it.

I'm not sure why the tone of the users on this forum is so bad but it's always the most negative shit said in the most negative way fed purely off emotion. Most of the time it's hardly logical or presented with ANY sort of examples or replays etc to back it up. Would be nice to see it stop.

in complete agreement, i remeber back in hte closed beta when the dicsuissons werre mostly objective despite it being alot worse at points (stug spam), but after the open beta this forum has seen a decline in intelligent dicsussions. (and to my shame i have been sucked into a few of them)

That's probably because Beta was free. People have a hard time accepting that they paid 60 bucks for something that isn't worth 60 bucks and built on promises of grandeur. It's frustrating.
