Help with Counter Barrage for AEF.

Could I get some help with Counter Barrage ability for AEF.
I've copied the German Mortar Counter Barrage, and the Britts one,
but when I put them on the AEF Morter 60 and 81 mm squads, and in the Halftrack, nothing happens.

The ability will click down, and stay down, but they never retaliate to enemy mortars.

So what am I missing?
Is there a hidden gun I have to add to a hardpoint?
Is the ability tied to certain guns?

Please assist :)

The GrW 34 has a toggle ability to turn counter-fire on and off and a hidden barrage ability that is used to actually fire at enemy artillery units. That barrage ability uses a certain hardpoint, which contains a counter-barrage weapon. Once you have copied all that and adapted it to the USF mortars, it should work!

Gotcha, and since this is an actual "weapon" I can give it entire map range.
Thank you for the conformation and information, I had a hunch but wasn't for sure and didn't want to go and mod all those items and it not work.

Sounds like I can point a new counter-fire ability to any custom counter-barrage weapon I make, so I can add this ability to the Priests, Howitzers, and Allied Mortar Nests too.
