Matters was nerfed. So it is balanced. Its not so accurate, but it fires a lot of rockets. People use matters a lot, because it is the only good mobile ukf unit. So it can counter leig spams, which mortar pit cant.

Remember when Katyusha was OMG Wipe Everything Instantly?
Well it didn't left your P4 with half of it's health...

It is too strong I agree. The problem is if you retreat when you hear the sound there is still a very good chance your squads get wiped as they clump up on retreat and then get hit by 1 rocket. Maybe if they increased the delay or decreased the rocket aoe it would be more tolerable.

On top of that whilst it is easy to decrew it is harder to kill compared to the katy / werfer imo.

After the LM getting nerfed, this unit is pretty much balanced. This unit, NOT these units. 1 LM, to be honest, it's not really a problem, same with 1 Panzerwerfer, 1 Stuka, 1 Katyusha or 1 Calliope. However, when there are more than 1 of each of these units on the field, the balance matter just gone. Look it like this, LM has a rather big area of effect but with its rather large scatter, you can actually dodge its barrage or at least have the majority of your units survive, just being damaged, and that's how these units suppose to work! They force a defensive line to reposition itself! They allow your attack force to make a breakthrough, NOT be the breakthrough!

Now, when the enemy get 2 or more of these things, for example, 2 LMs barrage at the same time would increase its potential to hit since while one's barrage might scatter a lot, the second one will sure to fill the gap. That's why the LM or any rocket arty unit just seem so ridiculously OP! It would be better if you can only field ONE rocket arty and can only get another if one get destroyed. Seriously, it kinda sad to see this "rocket arty spam" meta is still a thing, not saying it's no-brainer or anything, but it just make the game seem stale, just hold out till you get a whole bunch of rocket arty (Both sides, actually, even though I try to not get any where near it, but my teammate and the enemy will do it eventually).‎

Try Pwerfer against against 1 conscript squad next time. Do the same with land matress. Count seconds til they both kill 1 squad. This is one of most important things.

That, and its nowhere near 8 seconds. That's a long fucking time. Tulip rockets don't even stun for 8 seconds.

Especially in 3v3+, I agree that this is a huge problem. Just makes the game stale as you said.

What a joke...it counters all...it make good dmg even vs tanks...it wipes all, without a little chance to retreat...it is so easy with it...stuka can easily dodge...but this think is so strong...it need a nerf into the power from kathuscha
Lol, if you lose your tanks to matters, i think its your problem. It is very strong against hqs and team weapons. Everyting else is fine.

once again...the time which u have to move ur units after hear the sound from LM is under 4sec.

heavy tanks under 25% life will be destroyed...medium tanks under 40% will be destroyed--- light tanks under 70% will be destroyed..

maybe u should play the right game...not tetris

All Panzerwerfer, Katy, Calli, Matress and Stuka zu Fuss can be very painful, if used well.

thats right...but the the most powerfull is the LM...it fire 30 (!) raketen.
PW only 10.

pw is a little joke vs the LM. it doesnt wipe (only with big luck)...and need to long from the sound to the first impact. the LM give u the half time to react after hear the sound.

You have to keep in mind that the land mattress shoots its rockets against Germans which have a very different play style in order to keep themselves in the game in comparison to the Allies.

USF and SOV are front line factions that have good/large squads that deal good damage which is needed against the superior German MG42. They have fast and mobile tanks that can move to different parts of the map very fast. UKF is very static but has brace to stand against Panzerwerfers and Stuka zu Fuß.

Germans (especially) Ost rely on their superior weapon teams. The PaK40 is the best PaK in the game, the MG42 is the best MG (on par with the Vickers IMO). These both units are the backbone of the German forces and a Land Mattress simply roasts them with a single barrage. You kill the two PaKs the Ost player has and the chance is high that he can't do anything against your tanks, because the P4 is weaker than your Cromwell and the StuG is easily circled without PaK support. Panther comes too late. The huge area of effect and the many rockets of the LM makes it hard to miss the support weapons.

OKW on the other hand suffers in general against UKF because it was designed to be a faction that has its headquarters on the front. With an OKW medic HQ, which is needed against UKF in team games because of LeIGs to fight all the Allied artillery stuff, it is easy to wipe whole squads as UKF if you know where the HQ is positioned. The land mattress denies one of the core mechanics OKW has.

Artillery currently is way too strong. The only artillery pieces balanced are the German mortar and the russian small one IMO. LeFH and the russian one (including B4 which nobody uses) are also okay because they fire huge shells slowly in a large area.

Panzerwerfer and Stuka at least are halftracks that die to a single tank shot (just like the katy). But the Calliope is a tank that does not require any teching and has the armor of a M4 Sherman, meaning it takes about 4 to 5 shots in order to kill it, which you won't achieve unless you have a huge tank army which means you would win the game either way.

+1

u are right with this post. I think it would be a good chance to test things with the LM on the WBP Team.

Why deal one single rocket from the LM so much dmg? one single rocket wipe often easily a Ost 4 model squad... or a team wepoan like the pak or mg. Why?

it is a hand moved unit...so it can´t be to heavy ..so it cant deal dmg like 280mm rockets drom stuka.. (wtf!?)

Remove Stuka zu Fuss and Panzerwerfer from game. Ost can get old good nebel (from CoH1)in T3. OKW can get Stuka zu Fuss in some Doctrines. Then you can nerf again matres and calli.

This unit is quiet clearly over performing, and is disgusting to watch when i see replays with it ingame. The people saying its fine are probably the same n00bs who abuse it ingame.

Even if you take it out, the enemy will just re crew it anyway

this one fact ...recrewing after killing the models...is a big bonus compared to other mobile artys....all other will be destroyed (in only 1% cases abandoned)

this is one of the most frustrating on this unit...u kill the models...but must destroy the unit...which is not possible with small wepoans.

Push and steal it. There is no greater satisfaction, than to turn back the enemy's own weapon.

With the range LW have, if you managed to push and steal it means the ennemy took his LW for a vicker : p

stuka, pw, kathuschka need only one shot from a zook/ faust..and only few shoots from small arms.

kathuscha was easy to kill with falls...drop in house..faust...kill..
