10% percent increased suppression from mg's is broken

i actually think, that either the bulletin is broken and gives you more than 10% or the impression of its hugh impact is wrong. mg42s have a very high rof, so the 10% increase should only give you an actual 10% increase! will test it myself.

Well, if that extra 10% gives just enough boost to suppress with one volley instead of two (or little over 1) the impact is much bigger than the 10% would initially suggest. Reloading and cooldown take precious time which is very important during a flank.

@Stephenn: My point being there may be an asymmetric equivalent Maxim upgrade that plays to its strengths as well.

It takes a little over one volley of fire to pin a squad. In practice, it takes about one and a half because while the MG is reloading some of the suppression effect is bleeding away.

Point being, 10% could easily make 2 volleys ---> 1 volley

There's also the little extra bonus of 5% more supression, so if you want to get really overkill on the supression/pinning you slap on the 10% supression effect, + 5% supression.

Typical maxim useage would get the 15% supression + 5% range + 5% faster rate of fire. It still works, and it's really... well, fun. But at least bulletin has a great effect of creating some sort of playstyle.

there is. brotherly love. and did you know that bulletin can also be used on Russians? my Russians have brotherly love and 10% suppression increase.

Well, that is definetely broken, nothing even to discuss here, it pins instantly 9 of 10 squads at maximum distance, even snipers cant take out that mg, because they get pinned after first shot.
Let's be honest here, will the extra second of being of not being pinned and just being suppressed game breaking?

Absolutely, 1 MG can pin 3 conscript squads easily. I suppose this game is trying to be competitive, and in competitive world 1 second is a damn tonn of time.

I dont have a problem with instant pinning.

There was a faction in DoW2 that had instant suppression (Chaos), and players managed to micro/macro around that.

Afterall, thats what MGs are supposed to do, prevent infantry assaults.
If you are approachingna MG in its arc of fire, you are, categorically, doing it wrong.

In my army experience, youd have to be an insane leader to send your troops into a frontal assault on a MG position. Its simply "not done". You have to flank or bring in heavier ordnance to take it out.

Sure, you can micro around it but what use is there for suppressed anymore? with this game relying soo much on abilities pinned is thefastes way to neutralize a squad.

It also makes going scoutcars and maxims a lot more attractive, something I dont like to see.

In VCoH you can send two separate rifle squads within the cone - one is a dummy squad while the other does all the damage and killing.

It's not similar in any way at all. Dawn Of War 2 had melee units that could, in effect, teleport and tie up suppression platforms. Suppression teams out in the open were easy to counter unless he had 2+ of them.

Yeah mg 42 is a bit too good atm thanks to the auto-targetting which was a change from coh1. Now the mg42 can easily suppress 3 squads coming in from the different directions in front of the cone switching between unsuppressed squads. It should go back down to 3 man and this bulletin needs a tweak.
